Players that will be released
Casey Rabach that he will be released, that has been confirmed by multiple people.

He was a good player for us, but that time has passed. It's time.
Hail to the Redskins!

Could this mean that we are targeting a punter in FA perhpas, Raven's or Jag's punters?
Jag's Punter gone to the Bears - $10 mil!

That's another $3 million we can now spend. We must be going after someone coveted by their team perhaps, Dahl?

Redskins released DE Phillip Daniels.
Daniels was only due a million bucks, but the Redskins are on the verge of completing a deal with Cullen Jenkins. They also used a second-round pick in April on Jarvis Jenkins. Daniels has slowed down considerably and turned 38 earlier in the offseason. It seems likely that he will call it a career.

Groan. Seriously? Shanahan cuts a couple 37 year old players, and now he has to admit that he's throwing the season away? The level of hysteria around here during the preseason is ridiculous.
Who is the replacement for Rabach btw? Is it somebody already on the roster?

I think Lichtensteiger and Montgomery will compete for the starting Center job. They both are probably better suited to Center than guard anyway. So what this really means is, we need to sign a free agent guard. At least one, maybe two.
Build through the draft!

It's not just that. They haven't signed a HIGH QUALITY STARTER yet. Can you even tell me who 2 of our starters on the O-Line will be with Rabach now gone? How about who the 3 starter WR's will be? We have no PROVEN starter at QB, RB, at least 3 of the OL positions, P, PK, at least one of the 3 DL positions, and at least 2 of the 4 LB positions.
In just over 6 weeks we have to put a team on the field to play the first game of the year, against a DIVISION OPPONENT, on your Home Field. I do not at this time see a way this team can be ready to come out and play at a high level on September 11th against the Giants.

You understand that they have only had since Monday or Tuesday to agree to terms with players. You also understand that with that, they technically can not sign any player until tomorrow who's a FA. The only players they are allowed to technically sign is the teams own FA's, Undrafted players and their drafted players. So why not give them a chance a little. We all knew this team was going to need a few years to reshape. But I guess some forgot that there wasn't an offseason and you can't fill every need every year when it's every position.
Redskins released NT Ma'ake Kemoeatu.
Major injuries to Kemoeatu's Achilles and shoulder have crippled his once solid career. He was only scheduled to make $1.5 million in base salary this season plus a $200K roster bonus, but the Redskins are wise to not even pay him that.

I understand the timeframe. Are you suggesting that at 6:01 tomorrow night the Redskins are going to announce they've signed 3 or 4 QUALITY STARTERS that we haven't heard about yet?

Could you please let me know the date of the press conference when Bruce, Mike or Danny came out and told us that they were in "rebuilding" mode? Sorry, but until the TEAM comes out and is willing to admit "WE SUCK, and we're going to for the next 3-5 years." I expect them to be competitive.
