http://wtop.com/?nid=41&sid=2359437ASHBURN, Va. - As Redskins players showed up at Redskins Park, General Manager Bruce Allen told them they couldn't work out Tuesday, despite the fact that NFL players had been granted an injunction in the league's lockout.
"I'm just ready to go back to work and play. I just wanted to see whether I could get a workout here," linebacker Lorenzo Alexander told reporters after he was turned away.
Alexander and wide receiver Anthony Armstrong both showed up. Both talked with Allen and left with their mail. Armstrong also picked up his cleats.
They say Allen told them the team needs clarification on the injunction. The NFL plans to appeal.
Alexander says he wanted to work out in a facility that caters to professional athletes and not at a gym.
"I don't get interrupted. People don't come up to me asking me about the lockout. It's easy to stay focused," Alexander said.
Some players say they have workout bonuses in their contracts.
Alexander expects to be in touch with other players who have workout bonuses in their contracts to let them know they can't use the team's facilities.
Alexander said he didn't want a technicality to get in the way of getting paid.
"I play this game because I love it. But I also play it to provide for my family."

I think they are good they let them in the building so the players weren't locked out. The Seahawks maybe a different story, they didn't let their players in at all.yupchagee wrote:I'm no lawyer, but it seems to me that the team is in contempt of court.CanesSkins26 wrote:http://wtop.com/?nid=41&sid=2359437ASHBURN, Va. - As Redskins players showed up at Redskins Park, General Manager Bruce Allen told them they couldn't work out Tuesday, despite the fact that NFL players had been granted an injunction in the league's lockout.

The judge is in contempt of any individual. Her next ruling should be to order parents to read bedtime stories because she thinks parents should read their kids bedtime stories. Should parents force their kids to eat spinach if they don't like it? It's healthy, but they don't like it. It's really up to her, isn't it? We're on the course to being a greater country since judges are just ordering people to do what they want them to. Hey, she ordered owners to let their players work out on the owners equipment in the owners facilities, she wants it, what more should be required?yupchagee wrote:I'm no lawyer, but it seems to me that the team is in contempt of court.

Kazoo,
Using your logic, parents shouldn't make their kids go to school or take a bath if they don't want to do it. That wouldn't make sense would it? I am not defending the judge's decision, nor am I saying I am against it. I just want this thing resolved. But, I am sure it was more than she just wanted them to end the lockout. Just sayin.

You're "just sayin" that a judges opinion about how you should raise your kids should carry the same weight as yours? That's preposterous.Mississippi Hog wrote:Kazoo,

Just like it's preposterous she's ruling that what fans and players want gives her power not in the Constitution to dictate to owners how to run their teams and league. If the owners screw up, the market should punish them. A self appointed dictator's view on parents or teams is to an individual worth no more then her personal opinion and it's fine when that's all it is. When it's enforced by government it's a crime and she should not only lose her judgeship but be disbarred permanently.
Hail to the Redskins!

Most people including Nelson thinks she ordered owners to let their players work out on the owners equipment in the owners facilities, but that's not what she did.

OK, fair enough. I don't acknowledge her right to order access for players to private property any more then to use the equipment, but you're not arguing that point but clarifying what she actually ruled, which is completely fair.1niksder wrote:She ordered the owners to let the players in the owners facilities.... that's all she order.... that's all the owners did.KazooSkinsFan wrote: Hey, she ordered owners to let their players work out on the owners equipment in the owners facilities, she wants it, what more should be required?

From JLC's Twitter...
Was texting with Skins C Casey Rabach, who went to Redskins Park today. He said he would have liked to have worked out there but was not...
Surprised that he was not allowed to. Said GM Bruce Allen had a polite chat but told him weight room etc would not open until 8th court...
Decides on a stay. The League has asked for an expedited decision on that stay. These are definitely strange times in the NFL

Only to people who always were and will be on the players side no matter what happens, which since it isn't an actual change still isn't "worse."Chris Luva Luva wrote:The doors are still locked....
I can't wait to see more drama unfold, lol. It'll be interesting if the Judge orders the US Marshalls to escort players into the facilities.
The owners are making themselves look worse and worse with each passing day.

As we reported earlier on the #Redskins players in building issue - players were allowed inside - but did not stay. Headlines can mislead.

Funny business of millionaires against billionaires. Somehow they cannot agree to divide the NINE BILLION DOLLAR annual pie.
Both sides look pathetic.
But let me tell you WHY an agreement may not be imminent:
1) There are too many non-football people now involved making too much money out of the UNRESOLVED situation. Lawyers, consultants, negotiators, media, etc, are NOT interested in reaching an agreement for a while.
2) GREED. Both sides feel that can outlast the other.

Daniel Snyder has defined incompetence, failure and greed to true Washington Redskins fans for over a decade and a half. Stay away from football operations !!!
