Anyone ever look into this movement or the Venus project? This will probably start a whirlwind of opinions, but I for one, am all for it. I work in the finance business, very knowledgable as to what's happening right now, and it's total BS what these cats are doing. Call me a kook, but the system is fake. In my gut, it's going to collapse. Before responding, watch the video.

2nd Coming of the Lord?
3 Angels Message...........
This has nothing to do with what this is about, certainly not about the end of the world, or armageddon, or even the coming of any lord. Before you knock it, try watching. This is about creating a self sustainable society not based on money or profit. People will tend to rip this because of fear of change. A comfort of how things are now, but if you are logical, you will understand what the end game of this monetary sytem, one that we live our lives under, will eventually be.
Profit - distorts each and every profession. Doctors, lawyers, financial advisors, gardeners, grocers, etc etc etc. Everyone is living with conflict of interest. When a doctor prescribes a certain surgery, is it because he needs the extra money or is it because the patient actually needs it. Whatever the answer (and you hope the doctor has high morals), there is a conflict of interest when money is involved.
Companies will continue to push to have higher profits on their products. Workers in developed contries will continue to be replaced by either cheaper labor in emerging markets or robots. This is why the unemployment in this country will never come back to normal. Think about it, line workers at car manufacturing plants have been replaced by robots who can do the labor much quicker and much cheaper. At checkout lines at any big box store, you will find automated tellers who will continue to replace humans. I work with Caterpillar and they are creating trucks that can be run remotely no longer needing large amount of construction workers or miners. Anywhere you look, this is happening. And it's not going to stop. I bet YOUR job is replacable with technology. I'm a financial advisor and I'm not kidding myself. MY job can realistically be replaced with software with complex algorythems to point to trends, etc.
So, what's the end game in this. Well, eventually, corporations will push to cut costs so much, that most jobs WILL be replaced, until the point where unemployment is so low, that the monetary system can not support itself. There will not be enough people making money to support it. If you kncok this idea, you are kidding yourself.
Think of this as a big game of Monopoly where eventually, there is only one winner. All the money will land in the the top 1% of the entire population. Play it long enough, and it will be in one person's hands. Debt ceilings will continue to push higher, austarity measures in countries will continue to be created, more money will be printed to keep the system from collapsing. It's happening RIGHT BEFORE YOUR EYES.
So what these movies are about, are creating a resourse based society, that everything is sustainable. Think about this...we build things to last. Cars, houses, lightbulbs, etc would be built to last three lifetimes, not 10 years and breakdown. The idea that we build things to last also allows us to conserve what we have on this planet. If we are not tearing down a house every 50 years to build another one, we don't need to continue to plow away at our resources, which, by the way, are only so plentiful. Profit drives corporations to make things that have a very short lifespan so that we have to go back and buy more. Another example, corporations are not interested in making food healthier, because it's cheaper for them to take shortcuts on how they get our food. Another exapmle, health care. We would be able to cure cancer and other diseases in no time because we are no longer worried about selling drugs or supporting the thousands of hospitals to TREAT those diseases for profit. We push for preventative care rather than treatment care. Guess what the profit is on preventative care...a drop in the bucket compared to treatment. Guess what would happen to the health care industry if we found the cure to any major disease or helped prevent them in the first place.
Create a sustainble society. One that gets all it's energy from wind, geothemal, tidal propulsion, solar etc. There is enough geothermal heat on the earth to create 2,500 years of energy. Why aren't we doing this? One that has self sustainable food supplies. We have the technology to create huge amounts of food to feed the entire globe with the use of large hydroponic fields and stop destroying the top 3 feet of soil with fetilizer. The very fetilizer that is poinsoning the human race (there's a great article in national geografic on using wheat annuals rather than perenials). Why aren't we doing this? One that cures every known disease on the Earth. Why don't we do this? One that uses high speed trains to connect the entire globe. We have the technology to build 500-600 MPH trains on magnets that could be built around the globe and do away with the archaic airliners who use fossil fuels and travel the distance in twice the time. Why don't we do this? One that creates our homes, cars, daily neccesities to last several lifetimes. We have all that technolgy to do this. It's no coincidense that the greatest generation figured this out. Their creations lasted too long. It was effecting profits. Homes were built better then than they are now. Why aren't we doing this? One that gets rid of the self preceived needs we have on this planet. I ask my wife this all the time...why the hell do you need another gucci purse? It's because society "value's" that. One that allows everyone to live together, free of war, free of organized religion, free of anything to do with money. The world continues to fight between themselves over religion, when each of those religions preach peace. Our radical christians are as redical as any so called radical muslim. These differences have been created by our organized religions trying to secure their existance. Why don't we do away with these wars, religions, and the monetary system? Well, simply, it's because of profit. Our monetary system will NEVER allow us to do this. We should be embracing technology to allow it to essecially run everything for us in a way that will not effect our life. This kind of society would allow us to live with no conflict of interest, with no hypocracy. As Bob Marley said, one love, one heart.
Wake up people and see what kind of society we live in.
