D. Hill
Longtime Oilers wide receiver Drew Hill passed away at the age of 54 Friday evening after suffering two massive strokes, according to John McClain of the Houston Chronicle.
News of Hill entering the hospital came out Friday night and unfortunately nothing could be done to save him.
As McClain points out, Hill was one of the most popular players of his era in Houston. After starting his career with the Rams, Hill had five 1,000-yard seasons with the Oilers.
“I’m shocked,” former teammate Warren Moon said. “I can’t believe it. Drew meant so much to us as a player and as a person. I counted on him so much. He was the consummate professional. It’s just so sad.”
Hill was described as a quiet, humble teammate by former Oiler Alonzo Highsmith.
We send our condolences out to the Hill family.
