Sammy Baugh (again?)

Post by welch »

Several of these were posted when Sammy died, but it;s worth gathering them together.

The man who made the forward pass.

Aaron Rogers is a good QB today, but who created the passing play? Sammy Baugh. The inventor -- Sammy Baugh -- counts a lot more than a guy who learned from a guy who learned from a guy who learned from a guy who learned from Baugh.

The greatest.

Note the tackling rules: in the '40s, the defender had to subdue the runner -- not just knock him down.

It's February...enjoy!
