We're coming down to it, gents. This round decides who plays in Hognosti-Bowl VI.
The matchups for this week are:
HHC:
Hoss @ TeeterSalad
DHC:
SkinsJock @ REDEEMEDSKIN
The games to be Hognosticated are:
Sunday, January 23
Green Bay @ Chicago
New York @ Pittsburgh
Visiting teams have to get their picks in first, and every player needs to give a total score for the weekend (that's both games combined). The tie-breaker rule is the closest to the actual point total. It does not matter if you go over or not (this isn't The Price Is Right).
Visiting picks are due by Thursday, 9:00 PM EST.
Good luck, and happy Hognosticating.

I'm looking forward to this - we're going to see what you're made of - I'm betting that you try the 'easy' route and don't have the gonads to pick the games
you had a good season TRO, I'll give you that, but it's all coming to an end this w/e
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Green Bay @ Chicago = Green Bay Packers
New York @ Pittsburgh = Pittsburgh Steelers
total points scored = 77

Sorry Hoss, didn't really want to play the numbers game, but I couldn't bring myself to take NYJ or CHI.
Haven't you heard the old saying? The picks win games, but the under wins the Hog Bowl!...
Very famous saying...

Go big, or go home:
BEARS JETS
POINTS = 74
By picking the opposing teams, you are setting yourself up for a split where it could come down to points. It's interesting that you chose to go ahead and give him 76 as well as 77 and above.

^^^ Thanks! It's also VERY interesting that you, as the "master of ceremonies" should be pointing this out - why don't you keeep your stupid OPINION to yourself
this whole scene has been a bad reflection on the "hognostication playoffs"
I sincerely hope that we will be changing both the format & who is in charge next year - this is a joke!

chill out, skinsjock. All you gotta do in this contest is be correct. I intend to do so, so whatever DS, or you say, really doesn't matter.
no worries here, TRO - just giving the "dead" man a little jab
all the best to you and everyone today

I don't think the opinion is stupid at all. And I'm sorry if you don't like it, but I've got as much a right to comment on the proceedings as the next guy. I don't see what my creating the thread has to do with anything here. I'm already out of the contest, so why should it matter anyway? You're on record as saying you don't care about the Hognostication playoffs anyway, so why are you getting so upset?

Fact is - the players in the playoffs are all that really counts and in the past it was not cool for other posters who are not involved in the playoffs to point out to players that they have made an error (in their estimation) ESPECIALLY not with the "home field" advantage being that said players could in fact change their pick and have every right to do so
that was all I was pointing out - TRO has been around long enough and understands how the game is played - no big deal
in the "playoffs" here, in the past, non "participants" would keep their "opinions" to themselves until the "deadlines" had passed - maybe that's all done with now
I'm happy to admit I over-reacted - IN FACT I might not have reacted at all EXCEPT that I love shoving anything I can back at JSPB - especially when it comes to picking games

sorry TRO - this is about picking winners not about trying to get lucky

Thanks TRO - I'll try and hold up our half of the draw

As a relatively new Hognoticator, this is my second year, I wasn't aware of that. I realize you said TRO is aware, not me. Ironically for me as someone who didn't want to do the playoffs because I think it's way random compared to the regular season and I'm worn out from picking (will be ready to go though in September), the banter is the fun part of it all. So if you want the games to be serious and the banter not that's the reverse of my preference. But if we agree to unofficial rules of decorum I'll follow those.
