USA gets "OWNED" by China....
It's like getting Punked....like getting "owned"
Our beloved country is now the biggest DEBTOR while China is the biggest "lender" in the world.
China owns $841 Billion in US Treasuries.
Their lower and middle class is quickly rising and getting richer
"made in China" ....soon won't be so cheap
China has been saving, saving, saving
While USA has been spending x3
Are they the next World Super Power? What have we done to this country? The Left, Right, Middle....all screwed this up....

So you're saying China is the place to put money, we're not, and yet their money is here. How does that make sense exactly?

To default is wrong.... Their economy is "exploding" positively while our economy is IMPLODING with tax and spend.
They are having their "Roaring 20s" while we are just about to experience another Great Depression.
Solutions: Wage War again.... (on someone, anyone...!!!)
(I don't agree with said solution)
Heard of the saying: you are a SLAVE to whomever you owe money to....

They are in a gigantic bubble, especially in real estate. Doomsday is on its way for them, too.

This is half right. We are in a depression, and they are in their roaring 20s . . . and guess what comes after that?

Why exactly would destroying our economy be a "solution"

Bru...war is never the solution in cases like these..imo. History shows otherwise....ie, "let's not pay it back - lets kill em all and we won't owe a dime."
Fact is there are over a billion Chinese and each year, they produce 1000s of engineers, doctors, scientists, teachers, mathematicians...etc.
The USA on the other hand seems NOT to value education like we USE TO..!!! No, cuz some folks think: "let's just sit awhile and collect funds from social services...."
What a joke....!!! I'm in education and there are tons of 10-12th graders who cannot pass state examinations or high school Algebra...tsk tsk tsk
Countries like Singapore and others teach rigorous subjects at grade 2.

That's a great thing, though. Certainly nothing that should be considered scary. The world would be a better place if China's economic output matched or beat our own. More wealth and more exchanges means that all of us, and especially the poor, are better off.

Exactly. I've always found it ironic with the left they say how horrible we are and we're responsible for all the worlds problems, but then they want to put up trade barriers and run around shrieking that someone will steal our jobs or do better then us. Then again, the left seldom make sense and are never consistent. I have yet to find a liberal who can name a liberal position with the main reason they support it I can't name another position they contradict that position. I have no problem with China as an economy passing us. I want to do well, not just be richer because others do worse. A robust world economy where everyone is doing well makes us richer and gives us more opportunity. If they are richer then us, fine.

Yup exactly, because the United States of America will ALWAYS be the land of the free, something MANY countries CAN'T say no matter how wealthy they are.

Yes, but there will be bruised egos of American nationalists from us not being the "#1" economy in the world.

The only concern I can foresee is China trying to spread communism with its influence. They may get that imperialist mentality if their economy spurs a military buildup.

Ironically today it's the America bashers who are in that panic. Once again, contradiction...

That wouldn't be sustainable. Economies only prosper when choices are driven from the market. When government controls it and bleeds it dry like the Left is doing here, then China's economy will start to atrophy like ours is today for the same reason.

What contradiction did I make? The superiority complex traverses all over the landscape and is not tied to just repubs or dems. It's an American mindset issue not necessarily a political one.
And their economy seems to be doing pretty well right now. I recall about a week or so ago reading an article on China's new stealth plane so I know they are investing in their military. Long term sustainability is questionable, but for the next few years they will probably gain in strength before they lose it.

None, I wasn't referring to you I was referring to the "Left" in my quote. Sorry if that wasn't clear.

A military buildup would require money. Money would come out of the economy through taxes and destroy them as our politicians are doing here.

Truthfully, China is only "socialistic" on paper. They are beginning to ease up on things and are realizing that a free market economy is WAY better than what they've had in past decades and past centuries.

I hope they keep going free market and clean our clocks. Maybe with some competition the leaches in both parties, but even moreso on the left, will not so easily get away with peddling wealth envy as an easy path to other people's money. Liberals are like termites on our economy. The problem is as long as they get away with peddling that easy, painless solutions will solve everything even though it never does, it apparently won't change.
BTW, Heath Schuler is a moron. He voted against the government Healthcare system takeover last year, ran against Nancy Pelosi saying the party is too left and now is saying it would be "immoral" to undo that catastrophe.
We shouldn't do it, but if we did it we shouldn't undo it. That's immoral...

What a moron.

That's probably the most common opinion on the wars. A majority of Americans were opposed, but a majority also oppose leaving. C'est la vie?
I'm not saying there is no analogy there, but there is a difference in that we can just flat out reverse the health care bill and go back to what we had. In the middle east we can't. Now that would be good if we'd pull out entirely from the middle east, which obviously we agree we should do. But if we're not going to do that, I have a hard time picturing what uninvading means exactly
