NFL coaching rumors.....???
So I'm hearing on radio about Jon Gruden maybe "wanting" to go to SF. I got much respect for Singletary but if he doesn't start winning.....he'll be gone.
Jerry Jones won't stand much for coach Phillips ineffectiveness....he may want to convince Cowher out of retirement.
These are just some "talk" I'm hearing on the radio.

Pat Kirwin, on Sirius yesterday morning said that Cowher recently said... he's enjoying not coaching at the moment, but "if it was the "right" coaching position"... I know, that's a couple of "he said, she saids", but Dallas has a load of talent, a good D that already plays a 3-4, and an owner who is willing to spend money... if I were Cowher, I would probably put that into the class of "the right coaching position"...
It could sure set up some interesting coaching wars within the division, with 3 superbowl winning coaches and Reid...

I guess it depends on how bad Jerruh wants to win a Superbowl. I remember last year at this time, the conventional wisdom was that Daniel Snyder would NEVER give full control to anyone else...

I hear you Trey AND the ONLY reason that Snyder gave up on his involvement AND meddling was because of how really bad the franchise looked during last season
I think that Phillips job is not at great risk because of 2 things:
Phillips is very aware of who is in charge of everything in pukesville - on and off the field
Garrett has not shown that he could be both as subservient as Phillips OR as effective
HOWEVER - I don't think the pukes win the SB BUT I still think the Pukes win the NFC East this year

Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)
I just hope the Giants keep their stupid coach, he's not taking another team to the SB, that's for sure

When the Giants won the SB, I knew then that the silver lining was that they were now stuck with him for at least 3 years...
time's almost up...

I'm just glad he's not our HC - this is not a head coach many players or fans really like
I just don't like his beady eyes OR the way he acts on the sidelines

So? How does that change that he is a major handicap to what SHOULD one heck of a team? The Redskins have historically struggled with the Giants... Coughlin or no Coughlin... does that mean that I am not eligible to pass judgement on his "reign"?brad7686 wrote:I don't think any Redskins fan has room to talk about Coughlin. He certainly has our number.

Wow... pity the poor Lions fan, whom, per YOUR criteria, may never comment on ANYTHING football that occurs outside of Detroit...

Rumor about Cowher is the NY Giants. He's close friends w/the Mara family. Carolina seems to pop up in rumors too because he has ties to NC State and that area.

He would like to coach in Carolina but the biggest issue is $$$. Jerry Richardson is terrible at paying for anything.

I live in the Triangle. Charlotte's 2 1/2 - 3 hours away. Flying to NY's probably about as fast. I'm not saying he would or wouldn't consider anything for that reason, just pointing it out.
Hail to the Redskins!
