Banks
When that 53 man roster comes out my eyes will go directly to WRs and I will be looking for a man named Brandon Banks. I think we deserve this as fans. We have had to watch Randle El take 100 straight fair catches. This guys got that big play ability that this team has been starving for. Yes he is small and fragile, yes he got some drops and muffs. This is clearly a case where the bad is outweighed by the good. Get this kid some touches on bubble screens and pops, throw in a reverse. I was on the edge of my seat on all his touches. I was a big fan before Buffalo and now to see it translate to the field....my bad I get excited

I'm rooting for the guy ... but ball security is a very very big deal.
I think he is just unique enough among the talent there that he get's a spot ... I think.
But ... if the Skins grab TJ Whosyourmoma, then he could be out.
I like this combo:
Moss
Armstrong
Thomas
Austin
Galloway
Banks
I'd like to see TJ replace Galloway.

I think we onlt keep 5 WR's as we need a 3rd QB & a 2nd FB due to the age & injury history of the starters. I think Galloway is gone.

Considering that the team who grabs him will get him for 800 k and the Seahawks are on the hook for the other 7 million, he will be a bargain usually found at TJ Maxx.
I'm not a big TJ fan though. I still remember that game where he whined and complained that Sean Taylor spit on him.

SPIT HAPPENS!!

I agree, but there is a 100% chance that MS doesn't

Banks is entertaining to watch but I kind of hope he doesn't make it...He just can't hold onto the ball and we can't risk giving the ball right back a quarter of the time on punts. How many time did he drop/muff the ball during preseason? Anything more than 3 is too much IMO.

I would look at how much he dropped the ball in college! If he didn't have a problem there then his butter fingers in preseason was just a result of nerves and adjustment to NFL speed.
Both are easily overcome. Heck fumbling in general can be overcome. Just ask Tiki "no grip" Barber. He couldn't hold onto the ball to save his life and Coughlin tells him to hold the ball higher against his chest and he almost never fumbled again.

You can correct a flaw like that. Look at what they did for Tiki Barber in NY.

I'm unaware of MS hatred for TJ H. that would make him 100% off the radar screen ....
Care to fill me in?

Austin is already cut. Maybe banks makes it, or maybe they are making room for a trade (san diego) or a free agent.
With the Cardinals reaching the Super Bowl, is Dan Snyder officially the worst owner in the league?

everyone alluding to a possible VJack trade....that would be a shocker. He would have time during his four game suspension to pick up the O and get on the same page with Don.
Banks has some attributes to be an nfl player....just not enough to be one of the 53. maybe practice squad for a year. a guy like him has no room for error. we will see what happens i am hoping PS

I think it's a three game suspension. The reason to trade him today is that if he isn't traded today, he's supposed to miss six games instead of three. If not traded today, probably sits out the entire season. Can't really blame him - chargers offering a pro bowl guy less than $1million. Kinda stupid on their part.

I"m not happy that Banks made it. He was extreme one way or the other. Way too many muffs on ST and there were a few passes that a typical height receiver would have caught that he couldn't get ahold of. If he does stick around, I hope I never see him on offense. He can't block and him going up is a normal receiver catching in stride.
...any given Sunday....

I predict that Banks in the offense will be used mostly in the five wideouts shotgun package on third downs. It will be hard for defenses to cover his speed on a quick slant. If he does well he might see more action.
On kick returns, the safest place to start is kick-offs because the opposing players are farther away than on punts and if he muffs it all he has to do is fall on it and they get the ball on the twenty yard line. Time will tell if he can master the catch. I hope he does well because Mike Shanahan does not tolerate fumblers.

VetSkinsFan, your points are well taken, the name Anthony Alridge keeps popping in my head because he had such an upside with speed, but keep fumbling the ball; however, there is one sure play that they ran to banks that he never fumbled and always got good yards - that quick pass to him while he was on the line of scrimmage. If there is one play the Shanahans can ustilize his speed, they no doubt, we have plenty of others. If his fumbles continue during the season, you can bet he will be gone. The upside posibilities for Banks are too great to let him go now. Perhaps, he should be keep inactive until he matures a bit and gets over his jitters.

So, even if he catches the winning TD against Dallas, to put us into the SB, you wouldn't want to see him play? We all understand he's short, thin, fumbled twice, and muffed a punt during the preseason, but how can you say you don't want to see him play on offense? The guy is electricity in a bottle, and I can't wait to see what he can do to help our team.
No need to respond with how you can wait to see what he can do to hurt our team, I beat you to it.
