Iggles are "laughing" now.....

Post by tribeofjudah »

Is anyone here concerned about McNugget (I mean McNabb)...?
Are the iggles laughing at us NOW?
Didn't we see this coming?
Is he "fragile" like a girl....?
Or is he a warrior and plays through pain....?

There goes our season! Sexy Rexy may/may not be the answer.
The sky is falling.

Donovan McNabb still bothered by ankle
Donovan McNabb appeared to be missing a second day of practice Tuesday.

He had his left ankle wrapped as the Redskins opened practice Tuesday afternoon. He wasn't participating in the portion that was open to the media. McNabb also missed Monday's practice.

The third preseason game is considered a vital one, as starters typically see their most playing time of the preseason. Given some of the offensive troubles the Redskins showed in last Saturday's loss to Baltimore, coaches would certainly like to see McNabb in there Friday at the New York Jets.

I'm not too worried about it honestly. Even with a bad ankle he is still better than Kolb on his best day so I'm not sure why the Eagles would be laughing.

No, I'm not too worried about it. McNabb will be there opening day and that's all that really matters. I've actually been pretty impressed with McNabb thus far. He seems to be picking things up fairly quickly and is making us in to a legitimate contender.

McNabb has never been fragile. Anyway, this is pre-season. It counts for nothing other than snaps. Why risk further injury in a practice game?

Let's see if the Eagles fans are laughing at the end of the season, not the beginning. Maybe they will, maybe they won't.

Dude, your kidding right? You watching the same game I was?

McNabb is a stud, and was taking the same beating Campbell used to behind the sive that is called our O-line.

Like Campbell but with one HUGE differnce, DM was actually getting the ball to receivers WHO COULD NOT CATCH THE D#$#@MMM BALLLL!!

But I digress. Please people, McNabb is a massive upgrade to what we could have kept (JC) and what we could have drafted in a QB. SETTLED!

Keep the guy out of the next two games and simply have him ready for the Girls in week one.

Am I worried about McNabb's ankle?

No. I'm worried about his endless supply of "missed reads" and his inability to throw a 15 yd out pattern without one-hopping it.

I've seen punters kick tighter spirals then Donny throws on a consistent basis.

I'm not sure that he will play or start all 16 games - BUT, we are better off with McNabb as the starter here than any of the other QBs that were available - I'll repeat, ANY AVAILABLE QB :D

we are incredibly lucky that the Eagles decided to not only go with Kolb but also to let McNabb go AND to let him go to a divisional rival - NOBODY that knows anything about the NFL thinks that the Eagles made the right decision in that regard

I'm not sure that many Eagles fans are laughing - maybe a lot of them think that Kolb has more upside than McNabb, MAYBE - that's OK

as far as the Redskins are concerned we lucked out big time - that is not in doubt - I could care less what the Eagles fans think
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

I don't see how anyone can say we 'lucked out' yet. As every other argument is 'it's only pre-season and pre-season means nothing' but in quantifying McNabb being here, it's a steal. He's played 3-4 quarters and he's already out a game. I don't feel very lucky. And with the lack of protection he's getting and the dings of our O tackles, I feel fairly confident in saying that McNabb won't take the beating that's coming very favorably.

Additionally, his sporadical inaccuracies worry me. I don't see the McNabb's cape as some do.

Okay Vet - I understand the caution but please give us an idea of any available QB (at the time) that we might be better off with.

I think we are 'lucky' that the Eagles FO decided to not only let McNabb go but to go to a divisional rival with absolutely no QB that could help AT ALL - do you think that was a good idea on their part?

I don't think that McNabb is so great per se - he's just a whole lot better in my opinion than anyone else that was available

please give us some (OR just 1) QBs that we might be better off with

McNabb looked horrible over a short stretch against the Ravens, but his stats would have been fine were it not for so many dropped balls and the final score would have been respectable. Still, his missing Arnstrong for that easy seven was a crippling blow. If Campbell had done the same thing, we'd still be hollering for his head.

Only because JC does not have the track record DM has.

we already got rid of Campbell BECAUSE he couldn't get the job done - we are better off at the QB position not that that's saying very much - it has been a mess at QB for many years

can we just stop with the comparisons - McNabb offers this franchise a lot of positives - why do we have to look for problems or issues?

How much better is McNabb gonna be this week vs the Jets? That's my question. The thought process is that McNabb is a lot better here than JC, which I'm not denying IF HE'S THE FIELD. So far, 3-4 quarters IN THE GAME and now 2-3 quarters OUT OF THE GAME in his Redskins career. That's what I'm worried about.

And that is why Eagles fans are laughing now. They got rid of Donovan for these exact reasons.

I mean, he's an absolute upgrade over JC, without question. But he does have flaws/holes in his game, and no one should be shocked that they weren't all just a product of playing in Filthadelphia.

Yeah but do we really believe McNabb is so badly injured he can't play this weekend or did he tweak his ankle and it would be stupid to play him in a preaseason game this weekend?

I'm going with the latter.

That's not the point. The point is that after what is a game's worth of play, he's already dinged up. As for what 'we' believe, it doesn't matter. The fact of the matter is that he's not playing this week. I don't go off of assumptions and guesses; I like to go off of concrete. And you can ASS|U|ME all you want, but it ain't me, buddy.
