draft picks and more

Post by Heath Schuler II »

If we do not take Sean Taylor with the 5th pick and move down in the draft to take a d-linemen and gain draft picks what exactly are we going to do with these late round picks? Best case scenario we receive a 3rd rounder for moving down a few places in the draft, who then do we target with that pick? I just have heard nothing about what we might do with a few more draft picks. Oh, and was Sean Taylor's work out really that bad or is every team in the league just praying we pass on him?

I don't think we can go wrong drafting Sean Taylor or one of the stud d-linemen but which position is easier for a rookie to come in and contribute at? I guess being a Washington sports fan has killed any patience I may have once possessed. We are all ready for a winning season and a little stability. If there is one man that can bring us what we have all dreamed of, it has to be Joe Gibbs. I love him because he is a hell of coach but also because he maybe the only person down at Redskins park who really understands how much Redskins fans love their team.
Whenever I am sad I just remember Troy Aikmen's last play in the NFL. oh Lavar!

With the later picks you would draft best available player or depth at certain postions like D-line. Also look for players who could be good special team players.

As far as who would make the transition to the pros and contribute quicker it depends on what your asking the player to do. A d-lineman if He is physically strong enough has less things to read and react to compaired to a d-back.

I think we'll get a better pick then a 3rd rounder, if not it's not worth trading down. The 5th overall selection is a highly coveted pick, we would be stupid to trade down for a mid-to-late first rounder and a 3rd rounder. We'd get either 2 1st's, one mid and one late (Hello Patriots), or an early 2nd round pick

The rumors I've heard are both of NE's #1 picks, or Houston's 10th pick and their 3 and 4th rounder. Either one would not be bad in a draft where defensive lineman and defensive cornerbacks run pretty deep.

The NE offer is definitely sexier, but that possible Houston Texans trade would be appealing. The 10th over all third and fourth rounders would be nice.

Then we'd have 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 5th roud picks.

If Taylor is already taken than draft Winslow. He can do it all.

If this is done we will be the 2004 version of the Kansas City Chiefs. What if we could get Dockett with the third round choice provided we trade down????
