Trade Fat Albert to the Rams for their 33rd overall pick. That's basically a late 1. It's what AH is worth, and they won't get a guy better than him with that pick.

Trent Williams had one of the worst bench presses at the combine, so calling him "strong" might be a bit of a stretch.

However...

He had an insanely good combine otherwise. 4.88 40 yard dash, 7.64 in the cone drill (one of the best), 4.63 20 yard shuttle (the best), 34.5 inch vertical jump (the best)... he is incredibly athletic. Athletic ability isn't enough though, here's what Scouts Inc. says:

Overall Football Traits

Production 2

2006: (7/7) Took over starting ROT job for injured Brandon Braxton versus Missouri, which was his first of seven consecutive starts to begin the season.

2007: (14/6) Played in all 14 games, including six starts at right tackle.

2008: (14/14) Started all 14 games at right tackle; voted first team All-Big 12 by coaches.

2009: (12/12) Moved to left tackle and started in 12 games; also saw action at center due to injury.

Height-Weight-Speed 2

Prototypical height. A bit soft in the middle but certainly has adequate bulk to frame. Top-end speed is above average.

Durability 2

No glaring injuries. Has played in 40 of 41 games the past three seasons (2007-09), including 32 starts. Missed the Oklahoma State game this past season due to a concussion.

Intangibles 4

Has shown some versatility and willingness to put team ahead of self and has lined up at LOT, ROT and OC throughout career. Has a few off the field issues and habits. Questionable overall passion for the game and work ethic. Not a fan of the weight room.

Offensive Tackle Specific Traits

Awareness 2

Overall instincts and awareness are above average but not elite. Has a feel for defenders trying to set him up. Does a nice job of getting helping inside initially and then picking up the oncoming wide defender in slide protection. Can indentify and locate targets quickly when pulling down the line or with short pulls around edge.

Toughness 1

No question about overall toughness. Excellent overall strength and power. Clearly plays with a mean streak. Finishes with consistency.

Pass Protection 2

Shows left tackle feet, balance and lateral agility. Gets set quickly in pass pro. Shows the ability to mirror and slide versus quicker DEs. Is aggressive and effective in short sets. Has shown improved footwork since junior year but still has some inconsistency and can over set at times. Is strong enough to anchor versus the straight-line bull rush but will occasionally get jarred by powerful initial punch. Has had some trouble versus DEs who jar him initially and then burst inside while Williams is still recovering. Only time he gets into trouble in pass pro is when he lunges or over sets which can be coached at the next level.

Run Blocking 1

A road grader that possesses an explosive initial pop and a strong powerbase as an inline blocker. Can generate leverage upon contact to get more than adequate movement on defenders. However, angles are a bit inconsistent and needs polishing with first step. Has enough foot quickness to hook edge and cut off three technique from the backside. Easy mover when pulling down the line and in the open field. Makes a smooth transition when climbing to second level to cut off LB's but can improve angles in this department.

I'm really happy with this one.

btw Bills just took CJ Spiller instead of Clausen. Might be an indication that they'll be willing to trade a later pick for Campbell. Do you think we could get a 3d rounder from them? That would be huge.

That would be huge. Spiller is a great pick up for the Bills. Honestly though, my biggest concern is the weather vs the Southeast.

Strength isn't just the bench. He plays strong, finishes plays, and has an attitude on the field. He also has played in the interior line, held up well, and doesn't get injured.

schefter is saying on twitter that we tried to move down but didnt get good offers. i wish we had a second or third to try to trade up into the first to take buluga.

I agree Canes. Keep in mind that next year's 1st round pick eqauls a 2nd round pick this year so it would take quite a bit for us to pick up Bulaga. I think that we stand a chance to pick up USC's tackle later in the 1st for Haynesworth.

I saw only three games showed, and in those three games I saw him surrender 3-4 sacks depending on your opinion. If you give up more than like 3 sacks in COLLEGE in a whole YEAR, you have A LOT of work to do to even be in the league. Okung gave up 1 sack all year.

I just don't see us trading Big Al at this point. Not saying it wont, just not sure we could get adequate value.

Not sure what you're looking at. The official stats that are used in the Blesto reports show say something different.
