Come on Brandon Marshal!

Post by jr_uscg »

With Randel El gone, we have room for another reciever. McNabb needs Brandon Marshal. Come on Bruce Allen, make it happen. This is going to be a great year! I'm so excited!

I will say no for several reasons.

1) He's a RFA, meaning we'd have to give something up to get him. We cant afford to give up more picks, so it would have to be a player. Maybe if they'd take Cooley, Campbell, or Carter, but I doubt they would.

2) Now that we have McNabb and have eliminated guys like Randle el, then we might find that Thomas or Kelly are the next B. Marshall. See what Favre did for Sidney Rice?

Hogster, why are you so gung-ho to trade away Cooley?

Because we need draft picks and we have Fred Davis. I'm not gung-ho on trading him btw. But, if the market for previous TE's like Cooley is the same for Cooley - a 2nd round pick, I don't see how its something that is out of the question.

The same goes for Campbell and Carter.

Like I said in another thread - I don't think these guys are looking for Marshall or a WR

The key right now is that we have only 4 picks and only 1 in the top 100

we can get Okung maybe but I'm really hoping that we can trade out of that spot AND by trading whatever players we have that can get picks in the top 100 of the draft - NOBODY on this franchise, older than 26, is worth keeping if we can get top 100 draft picks

this draft has a lot of players that can help rebuild and hopefully replace most of the players that were here last year on the offensive line - this should be the focus, not another WR

I don't care if it's Haynesworth, Cooley or Portis - get some more draft picks

Campbell is going to get us another pick but that is a 3 at best - the NFL FO guys might like him but they also know that we'd be thrilled to get a 3 and we most likely are getting a 4

talk about a disapointment :puke: - Campbell couldn't get it done on the field and now he's not even going to get us a top 100 pick
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

but we just GAVE potentially two yop 100 picks for Mcnabb, and he's older than 26.

And JC hasn't moved yet, so you have no idea what he'll garner. Soapbox much?

Ok Vet - so are you saying that you don't think this is a good trade? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I am saying that we made the right choice in giving up what we did BUT we still need to make a lot of additions to the offensive line - we needed that before this trade too

we were going to use either the 4 pick or the 37th pick on a QB and we did - I think we made an incredibly good trade for this franchise

GET REAL PEOPLE - Shanahan and Allen do not think like you do - they think that Campbell is not worth anything except maybe a 3rd round draft pick IF WE GET VERY LUCKY

McNabb is maybe not the long term answer for this franchise at QB but he's sure going to help this franchise for the next few years a whole lot more than Campbell, don't you think?

Campbell is worthless except as a draft pick

if that's not what your implying, then please enlighten this soapbox sitter - speaking of which, it takes one to know one :nana:

I'll take that to mean you are not happy about this. That's fine but I think you'll quickly see that the leadership and attitude that McNabb will add to this franchise let alone how he will lead the offense is going to be a big help here - we now have a guy that the defense can believe in too - Campbell is not even close

we are just looking to improve this franchise and I really think that the attitude here will chnge dramatically because of all the thngs these guys are doing

McNabb is a coup for this franchise and for all of us too

getting a WR like Marshall might help but I doubt we go that route without helping the O line first

Marshall would be a great pickup, but after a down year like we had last year, I cant see Shanahan or Allen going after someone like Marshall who could potentially create chaos and disrupt the attitude they are trying to create. Having 2 great TE's is not a bad thing as well.

Shannahan drafted this kid. I'm sure he would like him here. I think we will get him and we won't loss Cooley or give up our 1st round draft pick. Denver almost got rid of him last year. I think it's already in the works. Time will tell. Come on B Marshal!!!

I have a better plan if Marshall wants to play for Shannahan. This year isn't a Super Bowl year w or w/o him. Next year is lockout, then some sort of cap is back. He probably this year signs the tender. Is anyone giving anything high enough to pry him loose when he's going to be hard to sign and the NFL future is so cloudy? He's probably a UFA at that point and we get him for nothing.

What TE of Cooley's caliber and in the prime of his carreer was traded recently?

Don't say Tony Gonzales! Atlanta gave up what a second for him, so that would be the basement, not the ceciling for Cooley trade talks. There is trualy no other TE that has been traded recently that would have as much trade value as Cooley. And don't give me that knuckle head Skockey. He isn't half the TE right now that Cooley is!

Winslow was traded for a 2nd and 5th. He and Cooely are very comparable, although Winslow probably has a little more value.

I posted this in "What is Haynes - Worth??".. it relates.. seriously it's a great way to do it and the reasoning.

just sayin if fat al WAS to leave, i'd be happy with getting b marsh.. why do we need him? maybe we don't but picture this--> Thomas/Moss/Marshall/Davis/Cooley.. and McNabb throwing to them.. man can you just imagine that? Who do you double in that case? yea i know he has issues and i called him a baby but with all the vets on this roster i'd bet he straightens up something good and proper. plus he didn't act that way for shanahan, him and the young coach collided (not excusing his antics, honestly). that way we'd have real good hands on the offense and still keep our draft picks for the OL... makes sense right? B marsh, give up the headache that may (or may not) become fat albert and here's the best part.. not cost a pick at all.

Winslow is a accident waiting to happen. Cooley out produced him in college at he has clearly out produce him in the NFL. So if Winslow is good for a 2 and a 5 Cooley is good for at least a 2 and a 3!

Face it. If COOLey was traded he would hold the most value of any TE traded in the past 5-10 years.

But I would trade him straight up for B Marshall. I would ask for Marshall and a 3rd but would settle for the even swap.

Marshall is an elite WR and Cooley is an elite TE. They are roughly the same age, but Cooley doesn't have Marshall's baggage that is why I would ask for Marshall and a 3rd! Plus an elite TE alters the game more than an elite WR.

I would go for Hayneswort for B Marshall AND Denver's 2nd. I would start out asking for Marshall and their 1st.

Personally I think we should trade haynesworth for a 2nd, than trade for Jared Gaither. As for Jason Campbell get as much as we can maybe a 3rd or 4th round pick. Next we can trade for Brandon Marshall to improve the offensive side of the ball. Also we draft safety Eric Berry to play free safety or sign ufa Darren Sharper he was tied for the lead with 9 ints last year. Finally we can also trade down to get more picks but I'm not the gm Bruce is so we'll see.... HAIL TO THE SKINS!!!!!!!!!!!
