#5?

Do you think the redskins will draft Sean Taylor, Kellen Winslow, or trade down to like a 7 or 8 spot in the upcoming draft?

Welcome to a one stop info shop dealing all things redskin. I think a lot of us originally thought that we would be taking Taylor. But now, I can only speak for myself, but I know others might agree that I think we have shifted our thoughts towards a defensive lineman...possibly Udeze. Would love to have the caliber of player that Taylor brings to the table, but I'd rather win. So if the skins can do it without signing superstars...who cares. That 4th Lombardi trophy will look just as nice next to the others no matter who our starting lineup is.

My 2 cents

Lord - I hope not Harris

He got swallowed in some of his postseason work against the run. He is too small for an NFL tackle. I don't know how well he could bulk up without losing some of that speed that made him dangerous in college.

The problem is, with a lot of college OLmen still weighing 300 pounds or less, he could move them. With many pro guards and centers weighing in 20-30 pounds heavier... that is a lot of beef to try a speed move on.

I would rather see Wilfork or Starks - guys who can push OLmen back into their QBs flushing them out for the DEs or LBs to nail.

If the Redskins pass up Taylor, I have a feeling that we'll really be regretting it in a couple of seasons. But as long as we don't draft a DT after signing so many in the offseason, I'll be happy. The idea of drafting a DE makes me nervous with the 5th overall pick, but whatever Gibbs wants is what I want.

The killer is that I love Ohalete and Bowen, but it would be so great to have a huge playmaker back there. Anyone think that Ohalate could be effective on some of those zone nickel packages?

If I'm Gibbs on draft day, I trade down, get a DL and then fill a hole with the best avilable player at a "needs" position. If you look at it that way, we could end up with...

One or Two of the following DL= Udezzi/Harris/Smith

Or one of them and another future star playing another position...

I would be very pleased if the Skins stayed at #5 to pick up Taylor or traded down a little and still picked up Udeze.

I will not like it if they picked Harris...because I agree that he is too small to be effective in the NFL at such a high cost (i.e., high 1st round draft pick).

Just my My 2 cents

If the Skin's took Taylor I would not be unhappy but if we could trade down and get Udeze and some extra picks I think I would do that.

a lot of mock drafts show Wilfork moving up... I don't see us taking Harris - his stock has dropped way off due to his not so terrific post season. He got submerged due to being so small, and that is at a similar level to NFL play because the postseason is invitational - guys who might make it in the NFL - in other words the biggest and the best OL

Everyone thinks Harris is too small to be an NFL DT, but he weighed in at 295 at the combine and the OU pro day but still managed to do a 4.7 forty. I dont want Harris but I just want to put the myth that he's too small to rest.

We should draft Sean Taylor. I don't care that we have only two draft picks. Some people put too much importance on late round draft picks. Once in a blue moon do late round picks turn out to be great players in the NFL. Most players drafted in the late rounds end up in NFL Europe, become bench warmers, or end up being released because they suck. Don't trade down! Draft Sean Taylor!!!!Draft Sean Taylor!!!!Draft Sean Taylor!!!!Draft Sean Taylor!!!!Draft Sean Taylor!!Draft Sean Taylor!!!!!!Draft Sean Taylor!!!!Don't trade down!Don't trade down!!Don't trade down!Don't trade down!Don't trade down!
