Ochocinco's Fine
I think that his being fined $20K is absolutely absurd. Anyone and everyone could see that Chad was joking around. He wasn't slowing down the game or anything, just having fun. Oh, that's right. That's what the NFL stands for: The No Fun League. Total BS.

I suspect that he knew there was a fine coming. The penalty is for deliberately insulting the official... Frankly, I'm ok with the fine... but, at the same time, I'm glad Senor 85 had the guts to do it.
Go, Chad.
Go, Chad.

You're ok with him being fined $20K for a joke while Mr Smith only gets $15K for putting his hands on an opposing teams player? It just doesn't sit well with me. I'm not a big Ochocinco guy, but what he did was flat out funny. To fine him 20 large is just gross, even if he knew a fine was coming.Countertrey wrote:I suspect that he knew there was a fine coming. The penalty is for deliberately insulting the official... Yup. Perfectly fine with it. It's a published rule, and the league has been clear that insinuations regarding the integrity of officials will be dealt with harshly. 85 knows the rules... 85 bought it anyway. Beyond that, the Players Association hasn't protested the rule.
Personally, I think it's a stupid rule... but it is what it is. And Chad knew that going in (You'll notice that he hasn't complained about it). And, I thought it was funny as hell, too. What of it?
