Gibbs .3?????
PFT is reporting Dan had dinner last night with Gibbs. Want to be the first on record to say NO WAY is Gibbs coming back.
I'd love it. But Gibbs is a consultant and friend of Dan's.
Wouldn't you love to hear the convo?
Dan: what's going wrong?
Gibbs: I left you in good shape with Gregg Williams ready to be Head Coach.
Dan: I'm a loser.
Gibbs: no comment.

Amen.
To be able to bring respect, character and a fighting winning attitude after the Spurrier "experiment" looks bigger now than ever.
Gibbs 2 would have matched the success of Gibbs 1 if Bobby Beathard had been the common denominator in both cases.
I am convinced that not a single coach, no matter who, can win here for as long as he has the handicap of this dysfunctional Front Office.
No, Joe is not coming back. Danno simply met with him to consult a decision already made.
Daniel Snyder has defined incompetence, failure and greed to true Washington Redskins fans for over a decade and a half. Stay away from football operations !!!

And you know what...that's the smartest thing DS has done this year...I give him credit for talking with Joe...because you know Joe is the voice of reason.

No, the smartest thing would be to FOLLOW the advice.

Welcome back, Joe.
Are you kidding me??? That would be an extremely bad move IMO. He has had some aweful drafts. I think he drafted Desmond Howard, Heath Shuler, Jason Campbell to name a few, and traded away most of our picks when he was here a few years ago. No, I don't think I want him in here.
Miss you 21

Heath was the year after he retired.
Bruce has the authority. When Bruce makes the decision, it's a Redskins decision.

As DE and RiC said:
I've been thinking the same thing. It ranks alongside making the playoffs the year after SB 26, when so many players were hurt -- consider that Mark Sclereth played the season with a broken bone in his leg. But higher.
Compare the last ten years:
- Redskins under Spurrier and Zorn. The natural level of Snyder/Cerrato teams.
- Redskins under Gibbs. Consider that last season, with Jon Jansen out, and then with Sean Taylor murdered.
I don't know Gibbs could say, during one dinner with Snyder, that might change the team. It took him a solid year of coaching to get the first playoff team settled. Snyder already blew away Gibbs' choices to coach the Skins and to run the offense. Gone is gone.
What might Joe G. have said? Get a real GM and let the GM decide everything else?
