Bobby Taylor FS???
Bobby Taylor is an extremely good cornerback and I dont understand why he would come here with the possibility of being a nickel corner. One thing that sets Taylor apart from other corners is his physical style, and his overall height/weight advantage over a lot of WR's and DB's. Is there a possibility of us signing Taylor to be our FS or SS? He'd easily be an upgrade over Bowen/Ohalete and if we draft Sean Taylor we'd easily have the best secondary in football. Rams FS Aeneas Williams made the switch this year and made the pro bowl. Taylor could do the same. Any thoughts?

I thought about it - I just don't know how well he plays the run off the top of my head - I seem to remember him clobbering some backs, but I may be confusing it in my brain with Dawkins...

I'm not sure I would be comfortable making a corner convert to safety. Plus, it's Bobby Taylor. And I also think I read that his agent said "2.5 a year is not enough."

I can hear the sportcenters intros now: Today in Philly, the Taylor Twins were causing chaos for the Eagles. Check out these two hits on T.O. Ouch!! The Taylor Twins sandwich each side of T.O.'s head putting him on the bench. I bet T.O. is wishing he would have stayed in Baltimore when he had the chance.
Let us all gather around and drink the

What do you mean " plus, its Bobby Taylor"? lol. Hes about as physical a corner as youll see in the league. I think he'd make a great transition to safety. Man I'd love to see those T and T shirts like skin to the bone said.

Well, he's 32 and his play is declining slightly. I would feel great having him as a backup but as a starter, he's a little overrated. I would take him if he came cheap and doesn't cause some problems (not that he did in Philly).

Yeah, that would be great! He probably still has enough speed that when we go into a nickle formation he can be a corner and Bowen or Ohalete could come in. Then we'd have three great corners on the field! If he can play Safety, that just adds to Williams' defensive "versatility"

hey guys, i'm not here to start trouble, but i was reading this thread and i've got to say that it's not a very good idea. sure bobby t. is a big db, but the guy avoids as much physical contact(tackling) as possible. i love the guy and wish we would resign him, but that's not gonna happen. trust me when i say though, that he is deffinately not the "saftey" type. great cover corner though.

That's one great reason to switch Taylor to free saftey. If a corner is big enough, they are often switched to saftey once they lose a step. Some examples coming to mind are Rod Woodson, Carnell Lake, Ryan McNeil and Jason Sehorn.
I don't know nearly enough about Taylor know if he would make the transition as well as Woodson or Lake did, but he would still probably be better than Matt Bowen. Of course, then we would still need another nickel corner, right?

I'm bored, I'm broke, and I'm back.
bobby taylor never really struck me as the "safety" type.. i know hes tall and all, i just dont think hes as much of an aggressive tackler and hitter as we need in our safeties in gregg williams' defense... wouldnt be a good move in my oppinion, and we cant sign him as a nickel so i dont think we need him... maybe an average corner for nickel like walt harris or something, but not bobby... he could go somewhere else and be someones number 1 corner probably

I live in Maryland and I saw him play last year on TV. He is physical and talented. You would want to move a guy like Taylor to safety because of his size and toughness.

I'm an Eagles fan, been watching Taylor his entire career. He's anything but physical. Great coverage guy, but not physical. I give the advantage to the cabbage in the toughness department.
Now having said all that, I hope you do sign him.

After getting Ralph Brown Taylor, Bobby that is....will not be a Redskin. Look for us to keep our safeties and trade down or draft Taylor ...Sean Taylor. Bobby is probably bound for Cincy or the Jets.
I have travelled the net and found the Redskins promise land. This is, by far, the best site out there for Redskins/NFL News, Notes, Opinions, and so much more.
