DC Divas- Women's Pro Football

Post by langleyparkjoe »

Ok so forgive me if this was ever brought up before but our ladies are doing the dag gone thing right now. They only play 8 games but right now they are 4-0 and I'm going to check out a game on Sat. vs. Bmore at the Landover Sports Complex. Tickets are cheap (of course) and they actually have a full squad. I know, some of you may laugh at the thought but I have to see it myself before I judge. Here's the link of their website and I'll try to give you folks an update on Sunday or Monday if I get to the game. (depends on my kid to be honest witcha)

Oh, and the QB is a detective with the PG Police, now how flippin cool is dat!!!???!!!

I stumbled upon their website one day. Apparently, these women are in the middle of a dynasty. The word needs to be spread about the Divas!
Yes, Virgina, you can be a "real fan" and protest against the front office.

I'm sorry, but they look like they are playing in slow motion. I don't believe that I could ever get into women's football.

ahahahahhahahaha

I hear ya Capp, but remember they are women and just the fact that its full contact football is amazing to me. Not comparing to men at all but heck lets face it, alot of us guys couldn't be on the field taking hits like they do. Give um a chance bro, not saying go to the games but you know, check out youtube for them and you'll see some pretty hard hits and which football fan you know doesn't like hard hits?

You know...they have a dynasty going and the Redskins haven't been to the "big show" in almost two decades.

Maybe we should start going to see the Divas.

You guys should come see us play...we play the NY York Sharks next Saturday at home. It's $12 for entry...we're the No. 1 team in the nation, we're set for home field advantage in the Playoffs. We have two more home games...and then if all else goes well we head to Austin Texas for OUR SUPERBOWL.

Remember we don't get to practice sun up to sun down, we don't have advance training facilities...we get up go to work, come home get ready for practice. I wish we could dedicate all our time to playing.

Oh yea...Unique #98 wouldn't like you talking about her like that. :D

Just an update, I've been trying to expand the information available to THN members via the blog, particularly in the dog days of the NFL off-season. I spoke to dcdiva51 (a.k.a. SAM Linebacker DeVon Goldsmith) and she has agreed to write a weekly blog about being a DC Diva, about the challenges they face, about the games, the opponents and her team. She started us off with an intro to herself, the team, the recent history, etc. Its an excellent read.

Be sure to check it out...
