I'm so bummed out to see this happen, I think that he could have really been a good player. There's no excuse for this at all though. As a man you can tell when a girl is young even if she doesn't look it. The way young girls/women dress today it can be hard to discern age by physical appearance alone but you gotta be sure.

Yeah, that's not cool (either way).

We don't have much in the way of details, but I'd be willing to bet he met her someplace you wouldn't expect to find a 15-year-old (like a club) and that even if he had (or did) card her, she had a fake ID.

We'll see if we hear more...

Yeah, to get back to the subject at hand:

You can't tell an exact age, but I think you'd be able to tell the difference between 15 and 18. Even if the girl can give a reasonable doubt, there's usually friends that will give away the truth.

I would like to see more details, though. I was a HUGE Mix fan.

I agree but as I said in my earlier post there are some personality/maturity things that a guy can usually pick up on....

He has to suffer the consequences, he should have checked but I understand how a dude could slip up.

Yeah I get what you are saying. Especially an athlete or any high profile celebrity. I know Mix isn't elite player in the league but there are still woman who will target guys like him. Not saying she targeted him but he should have been smarter.

The give away to any young girl that looks older is their personality and the way they act. It is fairly easy to determine at least a questionable youthful looking girl. Maybe its just because I work around middle schoolers all day that I can easily make that determination.

Facing charge in Alabama, WR Mix released

To update a story we told you about earlier, the Bucs have released WR Anthony Mix who turned himself in to Alabama authorities today after his indictment for contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

The Bucs have chosen not to comment on the matter. In fact, the news was delivered via a one-line press release moments ago. Meanwhile, Mix is out of jail on $5,000 bail.

He was doing more than looking, he allegedly had sex with her. I stand by my statement. If you are careful, there's virtually no way an adult male should be in this situation. The man's 26, not 18...there's no excuse if this allegation is true that he was 'fooled' in to believing she was of age.

Garbage.. that's a crock of you know what.. dude.. I live near 4 schools ranging from elem-hs and there's no damn way he can say he didn't know.. bullcrap.. i hope he gets punished accordingly.. Good statement Vet, i agree 100%

I don't know how true the comments are, but it seems as if more than a few people knew one or both parties. More and more it sounds like if the mother was a mother, then this wouldn't have happened.

Banfield said the case stems from a January encounter. The alleged sexual contact was not forcible, but the girl could not legally consent due to her age, he said. Alabama's age of consent for sex is 16.

He could have waited one day

"The only thing we had was her statement that she told him she was only 15. She turned 16 the next day. That could have been the problem the grand jury had with the case," Banfield said.

She's having sex with a man that's 11 years older than she is, but she's completely honest? Come on, man, to believe that without even considering she possibly could have lied is silly at best.

My wife had a complex about her age for quite a long time before we got married. Women (and girls) lie about their age ALL THE TIME.

I don't believe this little alleged 'quite promiscuous' 15 year old was honest about that. Read the other article and read some of the comments. I realize there's no way to prove (or disprove) any of the comments, but I highly doubt this 15 year old is telling the straight up, unbiased truth.

As I get older, my sense of age for young people gets more and more skewed. 20 and under all seem like kids.

You better verify that they're college freshman!! Two forms of ID and a credit report as required by some here...
