Its pretty stupid that we have a top tier running game and a 12th rated qb and are 28th in points. Gives you an idea of how crappy we are in the red zone and how bad our kicker is. And moreso just how inconsistently we execute play to play. Jason obviously has a point that it is not all his fault, since the WR's are also a constant from last year. Moss and El are just not possession receivers, especially El, because they get muscled out of 95% of their routes. Moss is at least fast enough and runs good enough routes to get free of defenders from time to time. Its encouraging to see the physicality of Thomas and Kelly, but neither one of them look like they are in the game long enough to establish a rhythm. One can only hope they will get more integrated and help the offense before the year ends.

In Campbell's interview today he stressed that the team needed to play with "confidence", one criticism I have for Jason as an NFL QB is that he doesn't really exude confidence, Joe Gibbs always marveled at Campbell's ability to remain calm or as Zorn would say 'stay medium',
I'd like to see Jason get some more emotion about him, I don't know if he has a burning desire to win because it's hard to read him. Having said all that, if we had a solid line we could run the ball and give him time and with those two things the kid can throw the deep ball.

As for the article, I have to commend JC on his composure. He voices his frustrations, but still staying confident in himself. He pushes blame on no one, and I think he's one of the most qualified people to give a public ctirique of what's right and wrong on the offense. I've always loved his character and composure; I hope another good off-season brings him up to where a lot of us suspect he can be.

I'm still not sold 100% on him, but as it's been discussed in depth, it's a multi-faceted problem with many steps to fix. I think JC has a chance ot succeed here; I'm just not sold on it. Definitely believe in QB competition in training camp next year; if he's got it, he'll prove it and keep his job.

Ok, it's not all JC's fault. Obviously the dropped balls are not. The WR not being at a point in his route to accept the ball is not JC's fault. But...., what is his fault is all the low balls, dirt balls, balls thrown to high, staring down his receivers, not checking down soon enough and holding on to the ball to long. The WCO is based off of a 3-5-7 step drops. If he needs a play to develope then he has to take a 7 step drop. Unfortunatly our O-line is not keeping the pressure off him to utilize the 7 step drop for play develpement.

So ...no it's not all his fault. I would love to know if he is changing the play at the line ...in other words is he reading the defense correctly and trying to change to a play that benifits the players he has on the field or is he simply running the play given or just changing to another play that does not bode well with who he has on the field.

and the next person to use the same sorry excuse the coach uses...."execution" should get executed by the remaining board members. lol.

If execution is the problem then repitition is the answer. If the offense is having difficulty with the new plays then stop adding and get what they do know down pat. The D coach has had a lot of games now to figure out how to get a decent pass rush. I don't care if its changing personel on the line, moving people around, or simply utilizing the secondary for the pass rush. We are just not getting there. Everytime we rush it gets picked up. Our LB's get bottled up at the line and our CB's get picked up by the RB and FB or TE. Can we not try overloading one side and see if it even works. Oh, and stop thinking a play should be over prior to it being over. The defense will let up and be standing there looking around while the opposing QB is being chased by one person. The Giants field goal is a prime example also. 5-7 seconds go by and the WR's (ie; Moss) give up on the play and stand there modeling. Find an open spot on the field for JC to throw the ball cause he does not like to throw into coverage unless it's 5 yrds.

I never said that he wasn't right. I said that he had a lot of nerve. It's not like he's earning his paycheck, at least not on game day. He drops too many passes and can't return punts to save his life.

JC is in his gazillionth offense in 4 years. He now has a coach who IS/WAS a great QB. Let's give him another season to learn the W/C offense and a chance to prove himself. If he sucks next year, then we can burn him at the steak and insert Brennonism.

I think Campbell gives off a sense of confidence, but he's not the kind of guy to look really excited at any point or get emotional. To me, he always looks focused during games and stays under control. I don't think I've ever seen anything other than that.

That doesn't mean he doesn't have a burning desire to win, which he obviously does have.

I believe his record sucked. The next year or so we were in the Superbowl. So let's give Zorn and Campbell a chance. I really like coach Z. I think he brings a fresh of breath air to the organization. I think he's a step forward, not exactly like Gibbs II.
I like his attitude, and straight forwardness to the game.
Z is a pro QB. He made Hasselback who he is. I think if Campbell is going to be our future QB, Zorn will make it happen. If not, Z will replace him with someone who will. We have issues. An elderly O line etc. but I think we are on the road to greatness and I believe Jim Zorn will take us there.
It won't happen this season. Hell, I'd be happy to go 10-6/9-7.

He went 8-8 in his first season, though they did start 0-5. The next year was cut short by a players' strike, but we went 9-1 in the regular season, and won the Super Bowl.
