He´s back!

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

He´s back!

Post by El Mexican »

A starter one again!

Maybe this is his year? Just stay away from those purple walls, Gus.

Jeezus, he's still around!

I remember the old "In Gus We Trust" banners.

I bet Gus earns the starting job. It will be like Randall Cunningham's one-year-wonder in Minnesota all over again.

Gus will get Minny on the path to victory.

Why?

Unlike T-Jacks he can pass the ball. Those completions will get AP some breathing room.

Yeah, this is the dream oppotunity for Gus. This has gotta be his last chance. I hope he does well.

Gus was respectable for the Rams last season. I aree, better QB then T. Jackson.
Bruce has the authority. When Bruce makes the decision, it's a Redskins decision.

 I used to have one of the T-shirts. Like I said in a couple other spots today, the Metrodome seriously needs to consider adding another layer of padding on its walls -- quickly.

I remember ol' Gus.

When I was a kid, and didn't know any better, I was a big Heath Shuler fan. I thought he was gonna be awesome, because I was little and fell for the hype.

Anyway, looking back on it now, it's kind of surprising Frerotte was able to start for us so long. He was only thought of as above average because he was sooooo much better than Heath.

Start for us  He's started games for the Lions, Broncos , Dolphins, and Rams, he also started a few games for the Vikes the last time he was with them.

Yeah, but we let him start for us for like 3 1/2 years before he became a career backup and spot starter. He had a 70ish rating the whole time....

Why did we give him so long?

Two words: Norv Turner.

And when the FO realized Shuler was a bust, we were caught off guard. There was hardly any back-up plan.

It took a while to finally have some stability once B. Johnson arrived in 1999 (Trent Green had gone to the Rams left after a promising start in DC durin the 1998 season).

Strange times, those.

I doubt he can be any worse than Tarvaris Jackson was last season and the first two games this year. You have to a pretty bad QB when you have both Adrian Peterson and a great offensive line and you can't hit open receivers. Good luck to Gus.
