Are you freaking kidding me? What a sissy! He's fragile and can't handle being booed? I don't seem to remember Brunell whining about it. I also don't think Young has as much pressure as Campbell. I'm a Buckeye fan too and have thought he was overrated during and after the Texas/Ohio State game.

I think you have be thick skinned if you're a QB. You have to take all the good that comes with the position and you have to learn to cope with the bad that comes with the position. I hope he works out all his issues.

I think that Young shows all the signs of someone battling serious depression. I hope he's getting help. This isn't just about football, it's about his life. I think he should get some treatment and then figure out his future.

There's got to be more to it than the boos. He wanted out a while ago. Not everything in his life revolves around being a quarterback, obviously.

Like KSF said, if he is battling any type of mental illness, I hope he gets help and soon. I wish him the best.

There is definitely something a lot deeper here. He left his house without his cell phone on Monday night, and that set off a panic cycle with his family that ended with Young agreeing to meet his coach and the police at team facilities. That doesn't happen to people who are fine except for a bad ego or something. So there is a lot more to this story than a crybaby quarterback.

OK, so he's rich. That really doesn't make some of life's problems any easier to deal with. . .

If he needs help he needs to take a leave of absence.

If he's going nuts because he's an overrated bum then he needs to man up and stop sucking.

Regardless of it all, he needs to get his mother out of the papers.

He should quietly take a leave of absence and get better. This sounds far worse than just not wanting to play football...it sounds suicidal.

I've got to believe it's a major psychological letdown that's getting to him. He was idolized here in Austin, and Texas in general. Such high expectations of success in the NFL for those early 1st rounders is a recipe for this very thing.

The reality is, success in college has very little to do with success in the NFL, especially when you are talking about a running QB. Rarely do they become the stars they were in college. You just can't make a living running in the NFL. Ask Vick.

I imagine it's psychologically tough to go from National Championship hero, to NFL rookie of the year to mediocre NFL punching bag.

Vick made a pretty good living until he threw it all away on dog fighting. I suppose you mean that he was never going to take his team very far, but some running QBs, like say Steve Young, are in the HOF, so it's not like it can't be done.

I wasn't critcizing your post. Sorry if it came across that way. I was pointing out that when I clicked on CT's link, before my original response, it referenced the Tennessean article about his mom's plea to the fans to stop booing him. I also picked up right off that his behavior showed signs of clinical depression. That's why I said this:

I wonder what the real story is here. Fisher says there was talk of suicide, people concerned, unloaded gun in the car. Or is there really nothing to this story since Fisher says it was a misunderstanding. HMMMMMMMMMMM.
