Ashburn, VA - The Washington Redskins today announced that they have agreed to terms with sixth-round pick Durant Brooks. Terms of the contract were not disclosed. Brooks, the only punter selected in the 2008 NFL Draft and the 168th overall selection, is the sixth of the Redskins' 10 draft choices to sign or agree to terms.
I would assume this means the end of Derrick Frost's tenure with the Redskins
Why? Brooks is coming to camp to compete, Danny Smith said the numbers will decide, basically whoever does better in pre-season games, we need 4.5 hangtime to have an "NFL Punt" which we did not have in Seattle and we punted 9 times.

I think you may have missed the fine print:

I hope Brooks can boot it, but there always seems to be a big drop off between college and pros. i don't know if it is because the ball is different, but you would think a strong leg would translate directly. However, it seems at least 50% of the time, punters who averaged 47 yds. in college can't avg. 42 in the pros as rookies. So, all I'm saying is, don't assume Brooks is better than Frost until you see them compete.
