I was on a short vacation a week ago to go to a wedding. I went out Saturday morning to get breakfast for my fiance and as I walked across the parking lot of the restaurant, there was Joe Gibbs, with his grandson, walking straight towards me. I didn't want to be a nuisance so I just said "Hello Joe" and waived as he passed by. Not long afterwards, he walked back inside the restaurant and stopped to speak with me for a minute while I was waiting for my food order. He was very gracious and friendly. Needless to say it made my weekend. My father passed away earlier this year, so seeing Joe Gibbs on Fathers Day weekend lifted my spirits. My Father was a Skins fan all 63 years of his life and thought the world of Joe Gibbs, as do I. So, just wanted to pass along my little story. Joe looked tan and fit and happy. Hopefully he's enjoying some more family time now that he's retired from football.

A couple of months ago they did a story on Joe on one of the stations out of Charlotte. They had video of him playing with one of his grandkids. You are right, he looks like a totally different guy. I think the everyday grind of coaching was killing him. He looks 10 years younger now!
That's awesome. I envy the people who get to meet players and coaches outside of football venues.
You couldn't have ran into a nicer guy.
