No one can deny his talent. I was puzzled he lasted until Round 2 when the Broncos drafted him years back. Portis is a great locker room guy besides being a tough competitor with great running/pass-catching/blocking skills. Right now, I'm not sure there are too many backs playing at the level he's been playing at. If he gets 100 yds vs. Seattle, I'd guarantee we win that game.
In the long run, my only concern about him is the tendenitis in his knees and if that condition is more serious than he lets on. If he can continue to play at a high level, even as a platoon player (w/ Ladell Betts), I'd love to see him stay in Washington for a couple more seasons.

Imagine next year when hes 100% healthy with a healthy OL.We could be looking at another 1500 yard season for Portis but Portis is having HOF rushing stats.
Hes a great player and he showed this year that the trade for Baily was well worth it and we got the better deal.He guarantee a playoff birth and he ment it.

Greatest safety ever and the most feared hardest hitting safety ever.
He's in the top 10 or so but i do think he is the most charismatic running back of all-time. To back this up point up besides the obvious jokes and costumes and anticdotes that skins fan see all the time from him- i was listning to the Jim Rome show the other day and they had a few guys whose names i dont recall filling in for Jim. He said from their vantage point as the media the best scenerio for them would be for the redskins to make it to the SB because they would have alot to cover and a have a good time doing so with Clinton Portis. They said he's the funniest most charismatic player in the league- much more so than Chad Johnson or anyother names you wanna throw in there. We all knew that already- just thought i would share.

I hope Portis feels 100% the rest of THIS season. The Offensive Line... There's something I hope the Skins start making a draft priority (at least in rounds 2-5).

What will eventually hurt CP's final career numbers is the beating his body takes, especially his shoulders. I don't know if he will stay around long enough to really put up big career yardage but I sure hope he does. We all know that we can't count on the media to vote him in to the HOF regardless of what he does. The last list I saw had him at #41 all time. Another 5 years at his yearly avg and he will be solid top 10. Of course they will say it was all system yards...
Never have i been impressed more with him than i have been this season. I have not up to this point been a "total" Portis supporter, i have been weary of his clash style wise with the gibbs system, and the drop in YPC since he came here. But with all the injuries this year, he has been incredible. He is letting blocks develop better, he is helping out that O-line with his own blocking, and he has developed into an incredible inside power runner over the last couple seasons. His good health this season is culminating with all of that. If he maintains a considerable level of health over his career, he is a no doubter for HOF considering what he has accomplished so far in his young career. The kid has heart and he is always willing to adjust and tough it out for the team.
Did anyone catch the Who is... program on NFL network friday night. It was about CP. It was a pretty good show. He said his philosophy was to run physical to make the defender get tired of tackling him before he gets tired of being tackled. He also said that his attitude about draft status actually hurt him because he thought he should have been the 3rd overall pick and told GMs they had better trade up for him.
If you read in the Washington Post, Portis said that there is a possibility that he might not be in DC next season. I think that this is just speculation, but at the same time it is a scary thought
