Shaun Hill, Maryland QB, surfaces in SF

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Shaun Hill, Maryland QB, surfaces in SF

Post by welch »

Hill was not highly recruited out of high school, so he spent his first two years at Hutchinson Community College, where he earned honorable mention honors as a freshman and sophomore. His junior college success garnered him notice, and he eventually decided to attend college at University of Maryland. While serving primarily as a back up as a junior, he led the Maryland Terrapins to their first Atlantic Coast Conference title since 1985 as a senior in 2001. They earned a trip the 2002 Orange Bowl and finished the year ranked #10 in the country. He finished his Maryland career with 3,158 yards and 19 touchdowns.

...from Wikipedia.

I thought he looked decent as a senior. Well. Maybe he's made it.

By the way, Hill was a front-page picture story in USA Today. Not bad for a guy that everybody forgot after the '01 season.

He has looked good for San Fran. I'm glad he got a chance. I was never sold on Alex Smith. Maybe now San Fran won't be either.

...and I wish he was a backup in Washinton!

Oh, well...that's sentiment for you. Still, he looked calm and smart with UM. Congratulations, Shaun.

Well, now he is hurt and the 49ers aren't sure if he will start against the Browns.
