Good news for Bears fans but bad for the Skins - Archuleta has been benched and is only playing special teams. Sound familiar.....?

Ade Jimoh is out as he has been on IR for a few weeks now - he had been doing fairly well on the Bears ST unit.

Bad Rex has been benched and Good Rex has taken over. Rex has looked like a different player since his benching - a lot more relaxed and less 'tight'. He acquitted himself well against the powerful Giants pass rush - he was sacked 6 times but threw for just a few yards shy of 300 and didn't cough the ball up or throw a pick.

Right now, it looks like a battle between 2 bad but equally matched teams. Skins are on the skid and the Bears have been more up-and-down where they struggle to play 2 good consecutive good games or even two consecutive good quarters. So this game could turn in to one of two things: a dreadful 6-3 snoozefest or an exciting game with two bad teams that can't stop the other from scoring. I wouldn't like to pick the winner (or Biggest Loser might be more appropriate) in this one. Not that it really matters anymore anyway - Thursday night football will still be overshadowed and rightfully so.

The 'Skins will play fairly well on both sides of the ball in the first half. The offense will move the ball well, particularly via the pass, but will fail to score TDs. The defense will keep the Bears out of the endzone.

The 'Skins will scale back the passing game in the third quarter, and will settle for another FG when they run the ball on third and 6 from the Bears 25 yard line and fail to convert.
The Redskins will have trouble lining up on offense, and will squander a timeout during this quarter.
The Bears will score a TD after a Campbell interception deep in 'Skins territory.

Score after the third quarter:

Redskins 15
Bears 10

In the fourth quarter, the 'Skins will run the ball eight straight times for 22 yards over their first two possessions (including one three-and-out).
On third and 5 with 3:35 left from the Bears 47, a pass play will finally be called. Campbell will hold the ball for an eternity and be sacked. He will lose the ball, but an offensive lineman will recover.
The ensuing punt will be returned 48 yards to the Redskins 44 by Devin Hester (Frost will punt directly to Hester).
Rex Grossman will then throw 2 incompletions, the second of which hits Fred Smoot in the hands. He drops it.
On third down, Rex will throw a telegraphed screen pass to Adrian Peterson. Peterson will break 2 tackles and get to the Redskins 26. Timeout Bears.
The Bears' drive will seemingly stall at the Redskins 18, but a holding penalty in the secondary on a third down incompletion will give the Bears a first down.
With just over a minute remaining, Grossman will hit Greg Olsen in the corner of the endzone with a TD pass. Olsen will outrun a LB and outjump a late-arriving Reed Doughty for the catch.
The Bears will miss the two point conversion attempt, but still lead 16-15.
The Redskins will start from the 38 after a decent return from Rock. They will have no time outs, of course.
After a 13 yard gain to ey (his first catch of the half), Campbell with throw down the right sideline to Moss. The throw will be high, and will bounce hard off Moss' gloves into the air, where a Bears safety will intercept it.
The Bears will run out the clock and exit FedEx with a victory.

I love the skins.. This season, they're just breaking my heart. There are so many teams with mediocre records. I could deal with that and have hope. But, man we've got so much potential- as evidence by actually leading in almost every game- it makes it that much more heart-breaking.

I have a bad feeling about this one. I picked against the Skins last weekend in my pool for the first time ever and Da Bears game will be the second and the last.

I'm the one who in every discussion picks the Skins to go 16-0. I'm the one who guaranteed a win against the Boys in Dallas. I'm the one who argues endlessly for Joe, Greg and even Danny.

But seriously, this team is spent and is not gong to be ready for an NFL game in 2 days. Now NEXT weekend we are back on track and win out.

BTW, I went 11-5 in my pool this week and won it 2 years ago, I'm not ignorant. We just ARE the best.

Hey Bears, this is gonna be a good game. I think Rex is looking better than before and Griese is a good backup in that situation. The Bears defense is a great force, especially with some of the best linebackers out there. Hester is just a freak of nature anyway you look at it.

Some things I think we can do to win this game...
1.) DO NOT KICK TO HESTER.. Oh my gosh, I can't stress that enough, dumazz Denver thought they were special teams gods and got burnt severely.
2.) Our defense has got to blitz on almost all the downs. Rex can't handle that pressure coming at him.
3.) Our recievers need to do some short routes to confuse those DBs that the Bears got. There linebacker crew is pretty darn fast and some hard hitters so we need to run those routes precise. Sending someone deep on every play will make sure another WR is open because of the double team.
4.) Turnovers- whoever has less will win
5.) Utilize ey and Yoder.. I've noticed alot of defenses overlook our TEs so they should be able to creep past the line of scrimmage and get open.
6.) PLAY TO WIN!!!!.. We need to score a bunch of points and get a huge lead so they can't come back.

Will it happen, doubt it.. LOL.. but I'm a believer and I must have faith.

Somewhere in there we have 4 tries to get a TD inside the 5 and we run to the left 3 times and kick the field goal right?? Maybe we'll be in position to make a 4th and 1 conversion but a false start penalty will lead to a punt to Hester....Either way I'd like to believe we can win but I'm too used to seeing this dominate 3/4 of the game and then just hand them the win scenario.

Almost certain it's because the NFL wanting to protect its precious NFL Network package.

Of course with the NFL running its own channel, they'd be most flexible to run that game whenever it gets played.

All I ask from my team is that they play with fire and intensity. Basically give all they have and leave it all on the field.

From the coaching staff I ask that they do not cost us the game.

So we will see come Thursday. Win or lose I pretty much have given up on this season. I am actually already prepared to see what the draft has to offer for our team. I still have a small hope for the playoffs but I am not holding my breath at this point.

Who knows? Maybe The Unmentionable BlueStars will have everything locked up and they'll play the JV, like they did for the RFK finale.
