Right guard Randy Thomas was back on the Redskins Park practice fields on Wednesday, working along-side line-mates for the first time since he suffered a torn triceps injury in Week 2.
Thomas, wearing shoulder pads, took part in some individual work, but did not participate in any contact drills, at least during the early part of practice.
During the walk-through portion of practice, Thomas lined up with the second team offensive line.
Jason Fabini continued to work with the first-team at right guard.
"I did some individual work so I could get the feel of football again," he said.
How did it feel?
"It felt like football," he replied. "It's good to be out. I'm starting to get that itch again. The best therapy is to go out and practice."
Thomas said his return remains on schedule.he suffered the injury, during the Week 2 game at Philadelphia, he was expected to be sidelined 10-12 weeks, so the timetable for his return is early to mid-December.
Thomas is officially listed as out for Sunday's game against Tampa Bay.
"It's good to see Randy practicing again," head coach Joe Gibbs said. "He brings a lot emotionally. We'll see what his progress is. It's always kind of up to the player and the medical team, but it's good to have him back on the field. It'd be great to get him back for a stretch run."
Meantime, right tackle Todd Wade sat out practice on Wednesday as he rests a sprained knee suffered in last Sunday's game against Dallas. Wade's status remains day to day.
Left guard Pete Kendall also sat out practice. He has been slowed by an ankle injury in recent weeks, but he has not missed any games.
"Hopefully towards the end of the week we'll get them back," Gibbs said.

Agreed. I really like Heyer. Also can you guys imagine the kind of run blocking we will have with Randy Thomas at guard and Heyer at Tackle on the right side? Not to mention Sellers lead blocking at the FB spot. That is going to be a pretty mean right side. Also the left side is not to shabby either.
