FOR ALL YOU CAR LOVERS..THIS DOES NOTHING FOR ME AT ALL.....

This is the new Mercedes Benz SCL600.

This car is really different.

That's not what is different about it.

That either

......and now for the 'really different' part:

Here is what is different.

No steering wheel, you drive it with a joystick.

No pedals either.
Can u drive using a joystick?
Your kids and grand kids probably can.
The influence of video games in our lives has really arrived, wouldn't Ya say?

SCARY THOUGHT IS THAT NOW A 7 YEAR OLD COULD STEAL YOUR CAR AND PROBABLY DRIVE IT BETTER THAN YOU.

This has been going around for at least 2 years.

I'd call it a "future" car, not "new" since it isn't out yet!

Don't expect this to get by the NTSA any time soon. And don't expect to be able to afford it if or when it does.

Almost forgot to mention, the whole thing is plastic ... just what everyone wants in a five figure Mercedes.

For that price, I'll take the Ferrari, Lamborghini, Aston-Martin, Bentley, Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost, '64 AC Cobra,
Callaway Sledgehammer and about 300 other cars I can think of right off the top of my head.

What a a non-desciript looking car with no style what so ever...

The Side stick (atleast that is what Mercedes was calling it in the late 90's)is cool. It will never come to the states because according to Mercedes the US has a funny thing about having a mechanical linkage to the steering wheel. In other words it would be able to sold in the US.

Never have understood the mandate about having to have mechanical linkage to the steering wheel. If commercial airliners and fighter jets can be all fly by wire, why can't a car be drive by wire?

My 60 year old mother just stated that its lovely and she would like one, this proves that it is truly awful and its certainly not made for MAN!!!
