The Hardest Thing About A Loss Like This....

Post by Justice Hog »

For me is, I try to avoid ESPN and NFL CHANNEL for the week. I just can't take seeing any reference to this game at all!

It's tough because I love watching ESPN and the NFL Channel.

This week, however, I am going to avoid those channels completely....which is really tough!!!!!

After next Sunday, when they start showing highlights of next week's games, I can once again start watching ESPN and the NFL Channel.

This is tough.

I hate the fact that we have two weeks before we can really move on. If we played well and lost it would be different but with a terrable second half it leaves a bad taste in your mouth. :x

I agree, it probably wouldn't hurt so bad, if we had played our best and lost, but to watch us self destruct like that, and lose the division lead to Dallas almost feels like we lost to both the Giants and Dallas at the same time...

is that I thought this team had moved beyond mindnumbing losses to really bad football teams. That was last year's modus operandi and I hoped this team would be better than that this year. Stupid coaching and pathetic execution are the only way to sum up yesterday's bumbling second half effort.

Exactly. I was at the game in after the first Giants TD in the 2nd half I thought, I should just go because I know they will blow this lead in the most frustrating way possible. But then I thought, "no, we are better than that now" and stayed. I guess I was wrong. I got my hopes up so high that I really crashed hard after that. The games make me wonder for the first time about Coach Gibbs.

Nothing worse than having to wait through the BYE week after this loss.

That said, I think this bye is coming at a good time for the team. Hopefully they can get the new right side of the line playing a little better and come back strong!

The hardest thing about a loss like this is that this team just keeps on failing to exhibit all the alleged hallmarks of a Joe Gibbs coached team. First time around, Gibbs' teams were ruthlessly efficient, they were poised, powerful and effective. They were well drilled and did not beat themselves.

Second time around, Gibbs' teams have rarely shown any combination of those qualities.

This one hurts like hell.

The hardest thing about a loss like this is:

1) You have to win the games you should win.

2) You should never go into a bye week on a loss.

3) You can't repeat the same errors over and over and expect different results.

4) You can't get the trolls to go away.

5) Two Weeks is an eternity to wait for the Redskins to prove that this game was a one-time only self-destruction.

I could go on, but I won't.

to let it all out... Gibbs is right about one thing: The entire team s**ked.
They sat there, for 30 minutes, and let the Giants run over, through, and around them and were completely defenseless (and offenseless too). Truly unbelievable... and I thought I'd seen everything from the Redskins over the course of 36 years of being a fan.

THe players have to follow what's called. Granted, it wasn't executed very well, but you can't get wine from water, no matter how you shake it.

Perhaps you are familiar with the concept of an audible? You know, as in when the QB sees 9 defensive players "in the box", he audibles out of a draw play and calls a screen pass. That type of thing. In football, you can get any play out of any other play if the team has an audible signal for every play in the book. The entire purpose of audibles is that the coach calling the plays can't see the defensive alignment until after the offensive play has already been relayed to the QB.

I hate to think that maybe the game has passed him by. I know The Danny will figure out how to get a Championship here just like the devil himself Jerry Jones has in Dallas. Man, I hope this was a one time thing and not the beginning of the end of another season.

Well according to Gibbs he doesn't call the plays Al Saunders does. Gibbs, Saunders, Bugel all go over strategies during the week however and implement which plays should be used. I think both were not good. Maybe cause of the short week. Giants linebackers generally read and react very strong , thats why I think we should have called more screen plays, bootlegs, perhaps a flea flicker at some point.

What I hate the most is that we lost at HOME. I don't think that the Giants are that bad a team, you have to remember we lost twice against them last year and were not really competitive. Thought they are not as strong as last year (Giants) they are still a solid team that we have to play 4 quarters with.

The worse thing about this is that the Giants came out to play. Just like Gibbs said they would. They didn't do any bonehead plays that they did the first two weeks. Its like Coughlin got his team ready to play a very good team. Its weird to say it, but he did. Oh well, at least we have another game against them later on this year!

Im so mad! Thats all I can say! I've never seen such a weak 1st and goal attempt in 25 years of watching football!

As much time and effort that I put into supporting this team.....KNOWING this was a VERY important game......we GIVE the game away.....make HUGE plays to come back....get to 1st and goal......

then we pull THAT series???

Come on........my lil brother could have called 4 better plays than that!

Few things I think the Skins will learn from that meltdown....

1- They'll go for the throat for now on when they are up!

2- They will play for FOUR quarters!

3- I think JC learned a ton. He's very smart and very perceptive and WANTS to do well for us. He realizes that this is HIS team and if the call from the sidelines is NOT the right play....he'll call his own!

LOOK OUT DETROIT!!!!!!

Depressed...

Post by skinsrule84 »

I dont want to talk about the Redskins, I dont want to hear about them, I dont want to read about them, I dont want to look at power rankings, I dont want to go to Redskins.com...I can't bare it..Even at work today I'd hear people talking about the Skins and I'd walk away. It's pretty dumb that this team affects my mood for the week :? Anyone else like this?

After such a bad loss, I just can't wait for the Lions..

It ruins my Sunday night and Monday, but not the whole week. Interesting choice though to come to The Hogs given your aversion to talking Skins.
