I don't know about you guys but Im really anticipating this movie. Here are a few of my fav. simpsons quotes.
Lisa the Vegetarian had so many awesome lines. I especially the exchange at the dinner table somewhere in here. "THAT'S IT! GO TO YOUR ROOM!"
Homer: Marge? Since I'm not talking to Lisa, would you please ask her to pass me the syrup? Marge: Dear, please pass your father the syrup, Lisa. Lisa: Bart, tell Dad I will only pass the syrup if it won't be used on any meat product. Bart: (To Homer) You dunkin' your sausages in that syrup homeboy? Homer: Marge, tell Bart I just want to drink a nice glass of syrup like I do every morning. Marge: Tell him yourself, you're ignoring Lisa, not Bart. I'm going to see it on Friday but I can't say that I'm too excited. I haven't watched the Simpsons in years, that is, since it became painful to watch. I mostly fear that it will feel like an hour and a half long episode. . .and possibly not a good one. . .
Also, the insane marketing deals that have been signed (7-11 and Burger King, among others) make me think that they've thrown the screw-it-all switch and are just trying to make as much money as possible in their last big push.
All cynicism aside, they had my money for a ticket the moment they made the plans for a film. I'm sure the box office numbers will be big.

My sentiments exactly ... the show has been awful for many years now, I read about three years ago that they were allowing the people who do the voices to write lines and episodes, that's not a positive development. The last funny episode of the recent generation I saw was when Homer got medicinal marijuana ("Why do they call em fingers if they don't fing?"), aside from that it's been some of the worst comedy on TV and it pains me to write that. Thank god for DVDs. Seasons 3-9ish are brilliant.
I, like my friend above, will see the film but I have grave misgivings about it.
Maybe Fox can make enough money to correct the enormous mistake they made by canceling 'Arrested Development.' Sigh.

I will never forgive them for that. . .not only did the show get cut short, but they worked so hard at making it seem more 'marketable' that a good half-season was only so-so since they went over-the-top. (They really pulled it together at the end of the last season, though). Just my , of course.
"The Simpsons" may or may not be in decline (tastes vary - I still like it), but even a bad "Simpsons" episode is better than most of the rest of what's out there. It's one of the only two shows I make a point of watching anymore.
The movie was very good. I was pleasantly surprised, and to be honest I don't really have any criticisms to offer here.
It definitely felt like a movie and not 4 episodes put together. They did a great job using computer graphics to give the scenes a little more perspective without changing the 'feel' of the Simpsons. Many of the great characters of the past made appearances, but they did so without making it feel like the movie was depending on past Simpsons' glory.
I would say that any Simpsons fan who has spent a good amount of time watching the show will not be disappointed.
