About six of us went to a corner of Ft Tryon Park, a corner that marks an outpost held by Virginia and Maryland troops in 1776 as they defended Ft Washington. We read the names of the dead troops from New York, then started on the entire list. See:

After two hours, we had gotten through most of the 'A and 'B' sections. We were exhausted. Figuring it would take another eight hours, we let it go.
Please take some time. Look at the faces. Note the ages. Read the units and the situation under which they died.
We can't bring them back, but at least we can remember.
