Okay Hogs... I jonined the Gracie School!

Post by Punu »

I joined a school to fight Muay Thai/Jiu-Jitsu MMA. It's a UFC school that trains you for a few months and puts you into some fights. It's very very very hard. However I'm determined to follow through with it. I have to lose 15 pounds by July 1st. I think I can do it. It's really exciting, however a little scary. Anyone here ever trained? I'm sure some of you have, let me know if you have any advice. Okay, wish me luck. :D

Wow Punu, I didn't see you as the violent type.

Good luck and kick some butt dude!

The Army’s unarmed combat is based on Horace Gracie’s style of fighting. Two months ago, we took a week long class in preparation for deployment. Lots of hard days, lots of fun, keep at it and you can get in great shape from it.

Thanks Jake. I like challenges. I want to be in the best shape of my life. Just a pesonal goal. However its something I've been considering for a while.

I just wanted to know if any specific diet types or off day workouts would help more than others.

The Marines call it a-line training. We learn one method to subdue an attacker, and 10 ways to incapacitate and kill the attacker in less than 3 seconds. I don't think that was Gracie though.

the diet varies..depending on whether you need to gain weight for a fight or lose weight. but i suggest on off day workouts you build your stamina to be able to go the distance. run and run some more. two minutes in a fight like that feels like 10. also, i don't know how many fights you've been in, but i'd suggest you get beat up a little in training. because i know for me, i had to learn to take a hit. because a trained fighters punch is a hell of a lot harder than any hit i took from some knuckle head on the street...i don't know if any of that helps. but like anything, practice makes you better, and experience is everything.

My kung-fu is strong.

I would totally dominate you.

You may as well quit now.

I'd rain down on you like Pat Smith and then cave in your head with a Gary Goodrich.

I'd let you get up and then smash in your face like Chuck Lidell. Then I'd pounce on you Don Frye style and ground and pound you until you could barely hold up your arm for my patented-but-not-by-me Gracie triangle choke.

Then I'd do my Tito Ortiz grave dance over you and flip off Ken Shamrock in your corner.

For a finale, I moon Chuck Norris who is sitting in the front row.

YYYYEEEEAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

Sorry... i've been a fan of UFC since the start.
Sean Taylor was one of a kind, may he rest in peace.

Unfortunately no, we got down here two weeks ago and missed him being here.

Punu, if you like we can get together, and I can train you to take a hit.

Here's our training schedule, administered by me:

3 sets each, 15-20 reps each
- Closed-fist punch to the face
- Open-hand, backhand slap (pimp slap)
- Elbow to the nose
- "Nature Boy" Ric Flair chops to the chest
- Knee to the gut

If interested, we can get started this weekend.

I'll even give you a break on my usual training fees. :)
Back and better than ever!

My man Piper would run through all you ladies in a matter of seconds, just so you know.
He wouldn't just moon Chuck Norris...he'd do a wink and a smile, too.
