I hate Dallas but

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Something in me really, really wanted to lock this pro dallas thread.

But it's being moved because it's in the wrong thread.

You praise dallas cus they drafted how you felt we should have? You can hand in your redskins jacket if you want.

The Spencer pick could be good but what really makes me envy Dallas is the fact that they managed to acquire a Top 5 pick in the 2008 Draft from the Browns.

Everyone in the NFC East outside of Dallas will be openly rooting for Cleveland next year, which is fine by me since the Browns are my B team anyway

Demarcus Ware gets burned by Cooley every game for at least one score! And Chris Samuels slaps him around in the trenches like he's his little................

You know what really cracked me up!! When they drafted Demarcus Ware they had Troy Aikman and Joe Buck do something on him being the "next LT" ROTFALMAO The funniest thing was seeing them use highlights from a preseason game to compare him too LT!!! ROTFALMAO

I guess you have to hype up your lousy picks. So people will at least think you're doing a good job!

Who is this Anthony Spencer guy? I heard of Gaines Adams, Jamaal Anderson, Omobi Okoye, Alan Branch, Carriker...............Who is Anthony Spencer?

No amount of bandwagoning..will change the fact that Dallas has entered a
win/win situation for 2008, because regardless of where the Browns finish
Dallas has all the cards, to steal next years draft with as many as 3 first
round picks

how is that possible you ask? Julius is getting traded in the offseason and
Dallas will be seeking a 2nd rounder for him, plus the 2nd round pick they
get based on their 2007 record, Bundle them up with Julius Jones and it's
a steal

Cleveland's top pick + the Cowboys first round pick + Jones and the two 2nd round picks for a 1st = Jack Pot and leaving you losers with your nose
in the toilet where it belongs

You're base this on ttiT getting a 2nd rd. pick based on their 2007 record, yet you call others losers. :?
Cleveland's top pick could be in the bottom half of the draft(maybe even lower than where ttiT was when they traded the pick). So far you've gotten nothing for Jones, FYI the Raiders wanted a 2nd for Moss - they got a 4th.

Right they haven't got anything for Jones yet, But Jerry is looking to get
at least a second round pick from it, It may not happen but you never can
tell..Depending on what Jones does this year for yards. He might be worth
a 2nd to someone. In the mean time it's expected that Cleveland won't be
as good as many expect them to be, and with Dallas taking away their 1st
for next season..combined with our own 1st rounder from our record in 07

Dallas is guaranteed a top 10 pick plus whatever slot they get based off
their record this year. Either way it's win/win for us..so I don't care how
much you cheer for Cleveland this year. Dallas is looking to steal the
show at next years draft, and their isn't a thing you can do about it
except gripe and groan

For ttiT to have a top ten pick next year they'll have to finish in the bottom ten. It's a given they'll be 3rd or 4th in the NFCE but do you really think they'll do that bad?

Pay attention, I am talking about Cleveland not Dallas..I expect the Browns
to stink this year, and the extra first round pick we stole from them, Could
very well be the 1st overall pick of the 2008 draft, but a side from that it's
win/win for Dallas..Because Jones is looking to trade Julius for a 2nd round
pick..which he could then bundle with the 2nd round pick he acquires from
the teams 2007 record. and receive a 3rd first round draft pick, and we all
know that regardless of how the Cowboys finish out the 07 season..Dallas automatically receives a first round pick any ways, So Dallas is in a win/win
situation no matter how you look at it

It doesn't matter who Dallas drafts for the foreseeable future.
It's still Wade Phillips coaching.

Dude other than the first player they drafted the rest of the players sucked. Heck they drafted a kicker as one of the picks.

Trust me our draft was way better. Laron landry is better than all there picks combined. THen throw in the two young linebackers we drafted who both have accomplished college careers.

Dallas Sartz can get to the QB in a hurry. He also can cover really well. I got to watch him play living in Southern Cali. No Shockey or Jason witten getting open on this guy.

H.B. Blades is a tackling machine. He will come in and be a rock in the middle backing up London Fletcher.

The best player we drafted possibly. Laron Landry who has the chance to be a pro bowler. He led his team in tackles. That is unheard of for a safety.

We drafted three potential game changers. So think about it our safetys are better than Dallas. I would say our corners are better when healthy.
Springs,Smoot, Macklin and Rogers.

Washington and Demarcus are a wash. I got to give Demarcus his due he is a fine player. We have Two middle linebackers who are better than theres. I dont even know the name of there Mlb.

Gibbs additions so far

Cooley all pro , Taylor all world, aquired Portis from Denver, aquired Moss from the Jets, drafted Laron Landry, aquired Cornelius Griffin, aquired Shawn Springs, Randy Thomas, Mike Sellers excellent blocking back, Smoot.

Gibbs pick ups with destiny yet to be fullfilled

Dallas Sartz, Laron Landry, B. Lloyd, Jason Campbell , H.B. Blades, Antwan Randle El.

Only bad Move Gibbs has made was keeping Brunell in too long.
Keep in mind Gibbs is cleaning up the mess DUMB A!! Spurrier made.

Overall I give our draft grade an A. For the five picks we had we picked up three potential starters for our Defense a backup QB and Backup TE.

That is darn good.

Here is our draft

Washington
Rd Sel# Player Pos. Ht. Wt. School
1 6 Landry, LaRon FS 6-2 205 Louisiana State
5 143 Sartz, Dallas OLB 6-5 235 Southern California
6 179 Blades, H.B. ILB 5-11 237 Pittsburgh
6 205 Palmer, Jordan QB 6-6 231 Texas-El Paso
7 216 Ecker, Tyler TE 6-6 269 Michigan

compared to Dallas

Dallas
Rd Sel# Player Pos. Ht. Wt. School
1 26 Spencer, Anthony DE 6-3 266 Purdue
3 67 Marten, James OT 6-7 303 Boston College
4 103 Stanback, Isaiah QB 6-2 216 Washington
4 122 Free, Doug OT 6-7 318 Northern Illinois
6 178 Folk, Nick K 6-1 215 Arizona
6 195 Anderson, Deon FB 5-10 236 Connecticut
7 212 Brown, Courtney CB 6-1 205 Cal Poly
7 237 Ball, Alan CB 6-1 183 Illinois

Our Draft is far and away better. Only game changer I see in there draft is maybe and I say maybe Anthony Spencer.

Our one pick of Landry is better than the whole Dallas draft.

The only possible upgrade I see is in the two OTs they picked. But they are both slow ogres in my opinon. Our O-Line is far and away better than theres do I need to list them Okay I will.

LT-Chris Samuels multi-Pro Bowler
RG-Randy THomas- All World Pulling Guard get out of the way of this guy!
RT- Jon Jansen - Solid All pro with excellent run blocking skills and outsmarts opposing defensive lineman.
LG?
C?
TE- Chris Cooley you all know what cooley can do. Versatile Tight End who can block, catch and run the ball after the catch. Way better than Shockey and Witten.

Gibbs has drafted well so far and also added via trades. Always keep in mind our team has been through the gutter with names like.

Norv Turner!!!! :? Steve Spurrier  This is a whole lot of mess Gibbs is cleaning up. So cheer up partner.

Who died and made you Mel Kiper? They did pick up a first rounder next year while acquiring a player that completely fits their scheme and led all college in tackles for loss. The redskins drafted a great player but they were also at 6. Neither were bad drafts but i think you need to put the optimism glass down if you think any of them will be starters soon except landry.

Well I've never really been on the same page with this regime, especially some of the stuff Snyder does. I can deal with Landry though, and i thought Golston was a good pick last year. I won't say that they won't start because injuries do happen, I'll just say besides Landry or Blades I don't really ever want to see any of them on the field.

Umm, did you know that when they initially selected him... or did you come to that conclusion after you saw him play... and after he showed promise by his actions on the field in games????

I think you know where I'm going with this...

i thought he would be good because he had the measurables to play he was just coming off an injury. This year The skins just got a bunch of people that slipped because of their measurables. For instance i thought montgomery was a horrible pick because he is slow, and he is still infact slow.

No you need to put the Pessimist glass down.
Sartz and Blades could start if allowed.

Question is will G.W. allow this? Son I am the one who first said we should draft Landry. Guess what we got him. So I guess me and Gibbs are on the same page.

What page are you on? Plus who cares who they drafted.
Cowboys are gonna suck.

They are bringing in a new coach. Samuels is gonna block Spencer all day or Demarcus. Jansen will easily block either of them as well.

All I am trying to point out is this.

Look at who Gibbs has brought in.

Taylor,Portis,Lloyd,Smoot,Fletcher,Springs,Cooley,Randy Thomas,Sellers,
Moss,Washington,Landry, and I probably missed a few.

But all in all you have to remember Gibbs is cleaning up after the mess Norv Turner and SPurrier left. NOt to mention he took us to the playoffs in his second year.
Sean Taylor starting free safety Heavens team!

Not to be a stickler, but Thomas was brought here during Spurrier's debacle.
