Quinn to the Raiders????

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Quinn to the Raiders????

RUMORS FLY OF QUINN TO RAIDERS

There are rumors right now in media circles that the Raiders are closing in on a deal with (drum roll, please) Notre Dame quarterback Brady Quinn, who would then be named the No. 1 overall pick in the draft.

Adam Schefter of NFL Network tipped us off to the rumor. Mark Maske of the Washington Post acknowledges the rumor in a Friday afternoon chat, but he says he's not reporting that the deal is done.

We heard earlier in the week that the Raiders had made an initial offer to Quinn. We have since heard that, while hard numbers were not presented to Quinn's agent, Tom Condon, there was enough discussion about parameters and terms to give him a sufficient idea as to the ballpark amount of the deal.

Well that makes things really intesting again. If this does happen, I wonder if Detroit would be forced to take Russell? Then what do the Browns do?????

Here is actually the q/A for this: I did some research:

Canal Fulton, Ohio: Mark, is there any truth to the rumors that the Oakland Raiders have agreed to terms with Brady Quinn for the first overall pick rather than JaMarcus Russell or Calvin Johnson?

Mark Maske: I'm hearing the same rumor. Right now, I'm not certain if it's true.

______________

Maryland: The rumor of Quinn at No. 1 was supposedly reported by you. I guess it has no merit than does it?

Mark Maske: That's funny. I have not reported that. I mean, it's pretty easy to see what I've reported. You can look in today's paper and you can look on my blog. You won't find that being reported by me.

Anonymous: With the first pick of the 2007 NFL draft the Oakland Raiders select Brady Quinn.

what are the chances that this happens and, if it were to happen, how far would JaMarcus fall?

Mark Maske: Until a little while ago, I would have told you that was a real, real long shot. Now the rumor is going around that it's going to be Quinn. We'll have to see if there's any truth to that. I'm skeptical at the moment, given that I've now learned that the rumor supposedly started with me and I know I'm not reporting anything like that. I don't see any way that Russell falls out of the top three. Even if Quinn goes first, you'll see people trading up for Russell and Johnson in the next two spots.

So you decide!!!!
