A Redskin Review
Hello, I am from a different message board where we are doing a mock draft, in which every person gets one team. I ended up receiving the redskins. Now, let me say, I know nothing about the redskins, so I am looking for some help as far as team needs.
Yes, I can get stats from some positions, and see you're set at RB, MLB, and SS, but the rest really is hard to figure out without watching games. For instance, how does your offensive and defensive line play? Which players do you want to upgrade? And which key FAs will probably not be resigned?
It doesn't have to be very in depth, but I'm just looking for a general position by position over-view of the team, and who you want to upgrade, versus who is a good player that doesn't get attention. Any and all help would be apreciated.
Thanks.

We are not set at MLB ..
D. Dockery is the only must re-sign Free Agent.
Need help at DT and DE but one or the other will do.
Corner is a issue
We need depth, depth and more depth.
The search tool will give you all the insight you'll ever want on ehat needs to happen this off-season, just remember we are fans that have no idea what "the Danny" will do.
I love to see us trade down about 5-7 spots and get more picks for the #6
DL - CB - MLB - OL in that order
And welcome to the site

Even though Campbell was extremely promising at the end of the year... we still don't know exactly what to expect from him.
I assume with another year in the first team offense he'll get even better, especially since the rest of the team is learning too, but he could stumble into a sophomore slump too (even though hes' been a member of the team for longer.)
It would be silly to draft another QB for anything but a clipboard holder, but I would like to see us sign a veteran signal caller if Brunnell retires or is cut.

I heard that we're going to trade our #6 pick to the Iggles for Jeff Garcia and sign him to a 10 year contract.
That's just what I heard.

Well, the draft is underway. I have traded the first pick to the Jags in exchange for they're pick at 17, they're second rounder, and they're 6th rounder. It may have been a bit in their favor, but I needed to make a deal.
If by some mirical one of the big 4 Dlinemen falls to me I will take him, but I doubt it, since anderson is already gone.
I plan on getting a MLB in round 2 or with the late first round pick, depending on how many are gone. Witch of the LBs fits your scheme best, Pozlousny, Davis, or Willis?

Puzlousny is going 2nd to 3rd round according to Kiper. Many think that his stock will fall after the combine because of his lack of speed. I for one like Buster Davis, he reminds me of London Fletcher. I also like David Harris out of Michigan. Willis seems decent from what I have seen but I haven't seen a lot of him. By the way, why did you trade us down. I was getting the notion most of us liked staying at 6 and trading down isn't the skins style

What a dumb trade, do you work in the Redskin front office? The #6 should have been worth more then that.
You know if it was a mock draft to be realistic you should have made it with Denver.

I was getting more picks no matter what I did. No one wanted to trade up, except the jags, who for whatever reason wanted quin, but weren't anxious. It was that or nothing, and I need more picks. I might even trade down again, but my eyes are on a player like Leon Hall or Patric Willis, if one should fall. You can add Branch, Adams, and Okoye onto the list of players I'd take, but I doubt any of them fall.

The reasons you might have traded down is because it seems like you are stretching for players that won't be there. Branch??? Not unless he breaks something at the combine. Hall, I have a hard time believing the number 1 corner on the board falls past 15. CB is always a need of many teams. At this point just trade down again

No, I'm trading down because the redskins only had 4 picks, now they have 6.Houligan26 wrote:The reasons you might have traded down is because it seems like you are stretching for players that won't be there. I know a lot of you were ubhappy with my trade, but here now, is what I got out of the later first round pick and the 2nd rounder.
Round One: Adam Carriker; DE Nebraska: He can play DE or DT, but in the varriated 46 scheme greg williams runs he'll likely play DE. Not a monster pass rusher, but he is great against the run and never takes a play off. He can move all over the line, and some think he could even play MLB if need be. I could easilly see him developing into a jason taylor type player (only he's bigger).
Round 2: Buster Davis; MLB Florida State: Another instant starter at LB. Buster Davis is the perfect MLB for the Red Skins. He'll fall into the second because his times speed is pour and he is undersized, but anyone who has seen him play knows he can do just that, play. He is a tackling machine, getting many comparisons to london fletcher (which I agree with).
These two picks would make the Skins run D imeediately better. I know you would've rather me take a big name like Branch, but I needed to get more picks. So, your thoughts?

Not a player that can help the team
Lacks ideal top-end speed. Does not show the speed or closing burst to consistently turn the corner as an edge rusher in the NFL. Doesn't have much value as an every-down defensive end in a 4-3 scheme. Is a power-end type that will only fit well as a DE in a 3-4 or as a rotating DE/DT in a 4-3. He must continue to improve his hand-usage in order to consistently disengage quicker. Gets cut a lot and needs to do a better job of protecting his lower body.
You traded down for more picks from #6 either you traded down too far or you should have traded down again at #17. Buster Davis won't have anyone to keep the O-lineman off of him so he can make plays

While good penetrating DT's take first-day picks, a good run-stuffer can be had later in the draft. I give you your 5th round pick, Stanley Doughty. A monster of a man at NT. He consistantly took on double teams throughout the year, making up for his fellow undersized linemates. Has some issues with taking a play here or there off, but with proper motivation that shouldn't be a problem.

If you are trading down take a look at Marcus Thomas out of Fla. hasn't been on the field much the last two years but had he not had a run in with a cannabis plant, he'd be all the rave. He'll go mid 2nd and will be a steel

Well, you guys obviously don't care, but the most recent pick is Mkristo Bruce out of washington state. I already took a DE, but in the 6th round he was just too good to pass up. A guy who doesn't have the measurables, but knows how to play. Excellent brains for the game, and he knows how to get the job done. 10 sacks this year...
I think Pozlusny would be a good fit. We dont need amazingly fast at MLB. We need Strong and Quick enough. The Middle just needs to fill the Gap. Our OLBs should be the fast ones. If we can pick up Pozlusny by trading down and aquiring a second or third rounder this would be huge.Houligan26 wrote:Draft_Net101 wrote:
