Pioli statement: The Patriots released the following statement from Scott Pioli:
"I am very honored to be granted the opportunity to discuss a potential position with the New York Giants. I have tremendous respect for the Kraft family, the Mara family, the Tisch family and the Giants organization. After careful consideration, and for personal reasons, I am continuing in my current role with the New England Patriots."
Thanks iniksder - this is a highly regarded/coveted position. For all his good work Accorsi IMO is getting let off a little for what he has done recently. I do not read the NY press but they should be all over this guy for the state in which he is leaving this team and especially for what he has accomplished lately. Their LB's and secondary are such a weakness and while Eli is decent to good they gave up way to much for what they now have at QB.
This team has some major problems and it is going to be very interesting to see if the coach, who was meant to epitomize "discipline", can keep his job. For the Redskins sake I hope he does
We need a GM - that is not going to be all that easy given the situation we have here. We have Gibbs for 2 more years as coach and then unless he really screws up we have Williams. We have Snyder and his reputation for meddling which will not stop. Snyder needs to get rid of Cerrato..... unfortunately, I do not think that Gibbs and Snyder think that is as big a problem as we all do - I hope I'm wrong.
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

I don't believe Parcells. he will say anything to anybody at any time - so long as its good for the Tuna. Did I mention I hate the guy?
