December 10 is impeach the President day.

December 10 is quickly becoming a national Impeach the President day. Groups all over the country are gearing up for the push. The moron still has no clue about the war and so undecided what to do he's cottoned up to the dems and may drop Chaney (by privately asking him to resign, as well as Rummy); still, the bozo has nominated clowns for judgeships, reverting to form, and is seeking a billion dollars for his Presidential library. That's right, a billion-- apparently to be donated by friendly corporate interests and buddies in Saudi Arabia. He's also denying Iraq is in a Civil War and ignoring the military's estimate that it now needs 200,000 additional troops it doesn't have to even have a shot at stabalizing the region so that it can unite with Iran against us. We need this guy gone as soon as possible. There are problems that need to be solved

Just a random question: crazyhorse1, is this the ONLY forum where you post this stuff? Do you spend all day going from message board to message board promoting your views?

As a political activist, I spend some time informing Americans of the doings of Bush and his group of phony conservatives on several forums on the net. On the other hand, I don't spend all day doing it. I do, however, read political books, mags, material on sites many hours per week. I also write publish political columns, poems, produce plays that push my social views, etc., and am in other ways involved in politics. I am a conservative to moderate occasional democrat and member of the ACLU chiefly concerned with protecting the Constitution, Checks and Balances, Rule of Law, and the Bill of Rights. How about you?

I don't believe it is good for a person to be so involved in politics. It raises you blood pressure and makes you an angry person. Maybe I am just a simple person anymore but I am happier. Ever since I started distancing myself from politics, in particular the news channels, I don't feel as angry or worried. Yeah, I check the political topics on this message board and sometimes give my opinion but I don't take it as far as some people who are bull headed do. It just isn't worth it.

Yes. . .I swear that local news has to be bad for your health. Even when I'm in the same room, but not watching, I start getting tense and frowning. I scan the Google headlines every day and read anything that's interesting (which is rarely politics), and find that it takes maybe a half an hour a week to stay "informed"--at least, in my opinion.

As Thomas Jefferson, supporter of the free press, said:

"Advertisements contain the only truths to be relied on in a newspaper."

and

"I do not take a single newspaper, nor read one a month, and I feel myself infinitely the happier for it."

and finally:

"The man who reads nothing at all is better educated than the man who reads nothing but newspapers."

Actually, I'm coming around to agreeing with you. When Bush is safely out of office, I might hang it up. I've already given up crime news and other obscenities. It's hard to ignore Darfur and Iraq, however.

IMO, Republicans will always keep the country safer than any Democrat.

Im not a Democrat, or a Republican so take that in mind.

Think about it, as soon as the elections for the Senate were over, and all the Democrats were in, did anyone see how fast they threatend us again?

They know that the Democrats wont fight back, while the Republicans will.

Word of advice: I tend to stay away from these threads, unless I can derail them, but if you're going to make a claim like that, I suggest you find some way to back that up. I know Democrats in the military (active and retired) who would take issue with that statement. My 2 cents

The statement is insupportable. World War I, II, Korea, Nam, Bosnian, etc.

One thing is for sure, Republicans (Karl Rove principally) and Faux News certainly has done a good job of convincing people that their's is the party that "will keep us safe". When you have no factual basis for this, you have to keep hitting the voters over the head with it, again and again, year after year. Eventually the propaganda does sink in with some people, and even seeps into the language of the normal (non-Faux) media. Hopefully, we will all eventually view these years as a sort of Dark Age for the country.
