...it's very clear to see how this Ramsey thing is going to end up. It will go as follows:
1. Gibbs wants and established, veteran QB at the helm to start the season. Don't believe otherwise, P-Ram's toughness, potential and smarts notwithstanding.
2. What Snyder wants, Snyder gets. So you can bet that Brunell will be a Redskin come early March.
3. If Gibbs wants Brunell to start, surely he'll find a way to make that happen... don't let the pretense of an "open competiton for the starting QB" cloud the issue... Brunell will get the nod.
4. Look for Gibbs to bring in other veterans, whom will be "cap friendly." Thus, prompting the release of other high priced players... figure out who these may be.
5. Seeking a trade and getting a trade are to very different things... so P-Ram will stay put and LEARN from watching Brunell and being coached by Gibbs, et al.
IMHO, this how this will all play out... wait and see.

I agree with 2,4 and 5.
I don't believe for a second that Gibbs has a speck of dishonesty in him and manipulates players in that fashion. I do believe he means that the competition will be open and that the winner will prevail to start. If the competition is too close to call... I think Gibbs would lean towards the old pro but if PRam distinguishes himself and Brunell performs like Rob Johnson did at camp I don't believe that Gibbs would hesitate to park Brunell on the bench.

Last night on NBC, Gibbs was on the defensive for the first time since coming back. George Michaels asked him about the P-Rams situation, and told him that lots of fans are extremely unhappy.
Gibbs said that Ramsey will be a Redskin for a "long time," and that, "he's not going anywhere." He also said that their "could very well be an open competition in camp." Making me feel as though, he would go into camp with a favorite.

Didn't get to catch that one. Wish I had. It's been my belief that, watching Gibbs coach over the years, that camp was all about open competition and if you wanted to start on "his" Redskins team, you had to prove it. It is also my belief, that Ramsey wiil whip Brunell's tail in such a competion and both will show their true colors. I have faith in "Coach". In both his honesty and his abilities.
