Madden 2007 strategy

Post by Skinsfan55 »

Hey guys... I have to admit, I used to be pretty weak at Madden.

I would play on Pro mode let Madden pick all my plays, lol.

I am pretty decent at the mini games (except trench fight and the QB related ones) but I would usually play Madden just to GM the Redskins (or a loser team so I could build a winner from scratch.)

Then I decided I wanted to get more involved in learning about football in general, so I applied things to Madden, I read strategy, etc. and I decided to play on All-Pro mode. (Still not All-Madden, but I heard All-Pro is the most realistic.)

I started having a lot more fun actually playing the games than just simming. I'm still not a great player, but I can beat the teams I ought to be winning against (lower ranked teams) and playing good defense.

Still, I have some pretty big weaknesses... zone coverage KILLS me. If I even see zone coverage I audible to something different, or if it's after the snap, I dump it to a back or run with Brunell (no easy task.)

What are some ways you guys beat zone coverage? Do you have any special tricks to beating the mini games? (it's tough to build up Jason Campbell when you can only get 3 points a year) What are some strategies you use?

just keep playing alot and you will keep becoming a better player. Pick the plays yourself and see which ones work the best for you.

Strong formation counters work all day with CP.

I'm not a total newb, when I was a freshman I would play against human opponents all day, and I was pretty good.

Since then though, I hardly ever played against other people... because I was better than them because of all my experience.

I don't have any desire to be a great madden player, I just want to be good enough where I can play on hard mode again and have it feel like a challenge.

I don't have Madden 07. I have 03 all the way to 06. I still need 07. But whenever I get the newest year I seam to still be able to play so good. I'm able to adjust to the new controls after playing a couple games. In 06 I usually hold the CP to 0 points every game. Every once in a while I'll mess up and let them score a couple.

All-Madden is cheap.

I had 3 successful challenges in one quarter.

Also, the computer does not need 2 feet in bounds to complete a pass.

Dang bro, you do suck.

But I stopped playing Madden. I finally saw the light and realized how stupid it was playing video games, when it's soooo much different than the real game.

Didn't on the older Madden games on the PS2 where you could create your own coach?

For me, All-Pro mode is a joke, not even fun to play because I can dominate from beginning to end (even when using the 49ers!). However, I get schooled on All-Madden mode. I wish there was level between the two.
I saw this sign posted once, it said, 'blasting zone ahead'. Wow... shouldn't that read: 'Road Closed'? - Brian Regan
