QB Duel

Post by 1niksder »

Leftwich will duel with Mark Brunell, whom he backed up as a rookie in Jacksonville on Sunday. Kind of odd for these two to be facing each other, considering where they came from and the support that they get.

Brunell was run out of Jacksonville by Del Rio due to Leftwich and signed in DC. Leftwich grew up in DC rooting for the Redskins and hasn't played in the area since his High school days.

Both Brunell and Leftwich get 95% of the blame when their team loses and 5% when they get the "W". Both cities have the same type of debate (Collins /Campbell & Garrad/Gray).

Byron is blamed every time Mark does something well, and every time Brunell screws up he hears the same things he heard when Byron was his backup

Lefty's has QB rating of 70.7, which is 25th in the league, last year, his rating was 89.3. The lefty's QB rating of 86.4, which is 16th in the league (Sunday gave it a boost  ) and last year it was 85.9. So neither is lighting up the league

The thing is... they won't be on the field at the same time but the loser of this game will be browbeaten for "losing " to the other.

I like Byron and all but after Sunday I can already hear the beating he is going to take during my drive to work on Monday morning although it will be nothing compared to what the Skins D is going to put on him.

The Jags have a pretty good D but they are beat up (I just giving the B-H'ers a head start)

They are slightly beaten up, but so are we. Don't forget that the Jags shut out the Steelers and held the Colts offense to only 14 points. Their defense is clearly among the best in the league, whereas ours was last year but hasn't played like it yet this season.
