Hognostications NFL Week 3

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Hognostications NFL Week 3

Post by Redskin in Canada »

Here we go again. NFL Week 3 is here!

PLEASE do not post your Hognostications in this thread. If you have REGISTERED already, just go to the Pick sheet and do your thing THERE.

PLEASE only register as a new player in case you have not done so yet.

This thread is intended to talk about the NFL picks for week 3, your favourite teams for this week and to ridicule others with mediocre scores, like mine. :oops:

Enjoy,

RiC

Sorry, I thought I uploaded the files this morning but apparently I did not... :oops:

The entire Hognostications section is now up-to-date... complete with Weekly and Season standings as well as this week's picksheet and this week's matchups.

I will update the section again on Thursday with the picks i have received so far in the week, and then again on Saturday with the final picks. please BE SURE TO CHECK AND MAKE SURE THAT YOUR PICKS ARE IN. If you make your picks before Wednesday at midnight.... you SHOULD see your picks on the Thursday update... if you make your picks between Wednesday night and the FRIDAY 9PM CUTOFF... trhen you'll see your picks on saturday. If you don't... please let me know on Saturday.

Please get your picks in on time this week as nobody will be added on Saturday like this past week.

Thanks.

Just so you know... I'm working on a prize for this week's 'weekly' contest winner and maybe a few weeks thereafter... might have to be a local to collect though. :wink:

I am not posting my picks UNTIL I see CLL's picks this week. [-(

Just kidding. OK, just look at it. My Hognostications are going according to my own Hognostications. Yep, I Hognosticated that the first week would be the most difficult. It was for many. I mean 8 - 8 is tantamount to flip a coin. But I also Hognosticated an improvement for week 2 with a score of 10 - 6. This trend is very similar to those of several other Hognosticators.

So, if things go as planned, the third week should still be better, right? No? Well, this is why the games are played. Do your homework. I will.

Ah! Of course anybody is able to make their picks in any way. BUT ...

... you do know what will happen if any of you misguided souls picks the Texans. :twisted:

As far as I am concerned, the Skins will win even if this becoming more an act of faith than a rational deliberation. ROTFALMAO

I am kidding again. :wink:

Quick question for the staff:
How late each week can picks be made? I'm leaving tomorrow for a trip, and might not be back in front of a computer until 9/29 or 30.

Thanks.

I already made my picks on the Hognostications page.

You either will have to wait to see them until they are posted and/or Texas Hog's article and my Counterpoint come along there too. \:D/

Why wait for the last second to make your picks? [-X

Why risk being left out of the pool this week? ](*,)

In my not so humble experience, the timing of the picks has no correlation with the numbers of wins or losses.

Well, my picks are made, and I think it's safe to say that nobody else need bother making their picks this week.

Really, could you all stop making picks? You're all making me look bad, and I don't really need any help to do that. :oops:

Anyway, this is the week for me. I think Redeemed has been given enough of a head start to make it interesting for him for a while, but it's time to reel him in. :)

By next week, I will be back where I belong; somewhere in the middle of the pack, just trying not to make a scene.

Why not? Let's do one! How about Scene 1, Act iii, King Henry V:
Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more,
Or close the wall up with our English dead!
In peace there ’s nothing so becomes a man
As modest stillness and humility;
But when the blast of war blows in our ears,
Then imitate the action of the tiger:
Stiffen the sinews, summon up the blood.

The schedule's on the main page of the pool.

Just send me your week four picks beforehand and I'll make sure they get entered.

Check your email... you should have received email confirmation with your picks.

Sorry RiC, I mistook this for a time of peace. I shall of course attempt to summon up the blood forthwith, although that kind of thing usually gives me a bit of a headache. I doubt that I'll be able to stiffen any sinews either, not after that nasty accident with the trouser press. Well, how was I to know that you're supposed to remove your trousers first?

There are some tough games this week. I think we are going to see some separation in the hognostication standings this week.

Good luck to everyone.

note to BossHog, I have yet to recieve my email confirmation from any of my picks.

Thanks Redskin1, but that was for week 2. I enter every week. Just entered for week 3. I know that BossHog gets them from me and they are entered. I was wondering why I never get an email confirmation. No biggie. I get every kind of email, except the ones I'm waiting for. :?

Now this is getting serious. :evil:

Now I have some real encouragement to kick your pride guys. :idea:

By the way, I have not been able to see the contents of the link:

» This Week's Selections

in the main Hognostications thread for Week 3. So, I have not been able to determine if any fans, other than Joe Texan, actually has picked Houston to win this week. But I am sure I will see your colours sooner or later. :lol:

I finally received an email confirmation of my picks for week 3. I don't know why I did not get one for the first two weeks. Strangely, the "To" and "From" fields are reversed, as if I were sending the picks to THN. Also, there were some formatting errors:
Your picks were received on Thursday, September 21, 2006 at 8:49 am. EDT You Have Submitted the Following Picks:
Week=3
Name=JSPB22
Game01Êrolina
Game02=Chicago
Game03=Pittsburgh
Game04=Green Bay
Game05=Indianapolis
Game06=Buffalo
Game07=Miami
Game08=Washington
Game09=Cleveland
Game10=Seattle
Game11=Philadelphia
Game12=Arizona
Game13=New England
Game14=Atlanta
Tiebreaker7
Comments=Tough week for hognosticating.

For the record, I picked Carolina in game 1, and 37 points in the tiebreaker.

Finally, the "This Week's Selections" page still shows the picks for week 2, so I can not verify that my picks are in.
