Taylor Jacobs traded for Mark Brunell

Post by oafusp »

I only have 1-2 days to have fun with this subject, so here goes!

My sources (friends in my head) tell me that the Redskins are trading 2nd year WR Taylor Jacobs to Jacksonville in compensation for Mark Brunell. This is a fit for both players for the following reasons:

1. Taylor Jacobs was Spurrier's boy
2. Darnarian Mccants panned out to be a good receiver
3. Jacksonville is looking for WR's right now, headcase Keyshaun Johnson has been rumored
4. Jacobs is young and to the Jags is a great trade for an old QB (Jacobs future replacement of J. Smith)
5. Jacobs is from Florida, and specifically the Jacksonville area (Jags are tired of blackouts and could use a local star on their team to draw fans back).
6. Dan Snyder would not be dumb enough to give up draft picks for a QB that wears KNEE BRACES ON BOTH OF HIS LEGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not quite sure if Jacobs would put fans in any stands, but I don't want Brunell regardless of who we give up... I don't care if they offered him for Todd Franz (exaggeration)...

I think it puts Pat Ramsey in a bad spot, and he is this team's future signal caller... Mark is 33, and he had few good days left... and like you said, he has 2 bad knees... Argghhh......

No doubt

The point about Brunell not wanting to stick around in Jacksonville to mentor Leftwich makes me wonder what his motives are here in DC.

If he has a huge mansion in Jacksonville where the whole town loves him for the time he put in then why could he not take a pay cut and mentor Leftwich.

Only 1 reason, he wants the gusto. If he aint stickin around Jacksonville to help a young QB then he sure as hell isn't coming to DC to help a young QB.

RAMSEY FANS NEED TO MAN UP. THIS IS BULLSHYT!

What is an off-season in DC w/out SnyderDrama?

Patrick, we got your back man, as Rob Schneider once said, "You can dooooooooo it"

If we trade Jacobs for Brunell then we are getting CHEATED. Jacobs has a future, and Brunell already lived his glory days so forget about him.

Jax doesn't want Brunell, the Skins do. Makes a heck of a difference, even to a millionaire football player. If you were replaced at work by a young hotshot, would you want to stay and mentor that person or go to another company and try to show them that they were wrong to replace you...

I'd happily trade Taylor Jacobs for Mark Brunell. Jacobs showed absolutley nothing his rookie season, and we have enough wide recievers without him. I'd much rather lose Jacobs than a second round pick...

If in fact that Jacobs for Brunell is the trade. Providing everyone stays healthy it's a great trade. Patrick is still a baby, holding a clipboard can only help him. He has all of the tools and we know with Joe Jackson Gibbs running things he won't get hit. He'll get his chance. This has Joe Gibbs written all over it.

Yes, it does. Plus, that's where Spongebob Squarepants keeps all of Gary's food. Do you really want a pantload of snail food ? No, I didn't think so.

Sorry. Too many kids around my house. I really shouldn't know this about Spongebob.

Speaking of Courtney Browm - wasn't it a tossup whether we would draft Brown or Arrington with the 2nd pick? Whew!!!!!

Personally, I think the verdict is still out on Brown.

He's had a lot of injury problems, but he really started to come around last year when the Browns figured out how to use him PROPERLY.

I thought Warmother's trade had some valid possibilities though :-)
Sean Taylor was one of a kind, may he rest in peace.
