Please don't use the term "Nazi" like this. It trivializes what the real Nazis did.

I'm serious. I find this offensive, although I'm sure that was not the intent.

I personally immediately associate Grammar nazi with Hitler. Every time I think about a pronoun, I can't shake that image of the swastika.

Every time I see a dangling participle, I'm reminded of Auschwitz.

It's horrible.

You really should try reading the whole title amd stop looking for things to complain about.
You are starting to effect the general population of the site.

See:

The thread title is directed to Grammar Nazis, If you look closely it reads in it's entirety it says "For the Grammar Nazis"

Staff members have clicked on because we read everything because we have too. Why would you click on a thread with such a title if this on word on a MB would have such a effect on you?

The only reason I point this out is because it's wonderfully ironic, but the above sentence should read: "You are starting to affect the general population of the site."

Had you read it before being offeneded you wouldn't be taking yet another thread off topic.

Then again maybe I should get this back on topic and ask were you capable of reading the post or not

Bad analogy. I find this offensive. I clicked in order to respond & say that it is offensive. If you want to call them the grammer police or grammer almost anything else, I have no problem with it.

Did you write the creators of the Seinfeld show about the Soup Nazi too? I find the news offensive most nights... my remedy... don't watch it. It's neat how I have that power to choose!

On topic...
I was quite surprised at how easy it was to read the opening post... but then again, I have had lots of practice after reading some posts on THN!

Nothing that can be said on a message board can trivialize what the Nazis did.

I clicked on it because I wanted to inform the author that casual use of the word "Nazi" is offensive to some people, especially Jews. I didn'y expect this firestorm.

We really don't care why you click on the link, most don't care that you were offended. All are completedly lost as to why you can't keep a thread on topic.

Grammar Nazi? Are you tlkaing ot me? I hate to be picky, but shouldn't the thread be titled "Spelling Nazis"?

Actually, I love to be picky. I live for it. It is my raison d'etre, my only thing in life. It's what keeps me sane, here in my room, all alone, with just my keyboard and a pair of socks to keep me company.

Is it too early to wish everybody a Merry Christmas?
