Bengals take UVA's Brooks in supplemental draft

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Bengals take UVA's Brooks in supplemental draft

Post by 1niksder »

NEW YORK — Linebacker Ahmad Brooks, who starred at Virginia for three seasons but was kicked off the team by coach Al Groh, was selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in the third round of Thursday's supplemental NFL Draft.
Brooks, a first-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference linebacker as a sophomore, also was a finalist for the Butkus Award given to the nation's top linebacker in 2004.

Dang, the Bengals are getting some bad boys, literally.

Take Chris Henry is a moron, Brooks has a bad reputation, and their young stud LB Odel Thurman just got a 4 game suspension for failing a drug test.

Poor Marvin...

I don't feel badly for Marvin Lewis at all. He (along with the rest of the front office) made his bed, and now he is going to sleep in it. What can you really expect to happen when you draft a bunch of thugs.

Don't forget about Hardy Nicholson (gets drafted, then arrested for stealing stuff from his former roommate, FSU RB Booker), or Frostee Rucker (gets drafted, then all these allegations about rape, etc.). There's one other guy too, a Samoan I think that has his name caught up in something too.

Point being, I don't feel sorry for Marvin either. Every team needs a thug ;) , but you only pick up one, have him surrounded by quality guys and hope he gets the picture. Marvin's picked up a half dozen over the past three years, when they hang out, ain't nothin but trouble.
Two formation shifts, one man in motion, and a counter trey...those were the days...

It's all a case of mistaken identiy. Cincinnati thinks they're Oakland.

Exactly what I was thinking. The new age Oakland Raiders.
