SportingNews Magazine's choice for us @ 53 & others....

Post by spudstr04 »

"Miami OLB Rocky McIntosh has many of the qualities the team wants at the position: aolid frame (6ft 2in & 237lbs) with room to add weight, good mobility, the ability to use his hands and take on blockers and the speed to come off the edge as a pass rusher. There are questions about McIntosh's durability and he needs to improve in coverage, but the team could replace him with Chris Clemons on passing downs.

It will difficult to pass up Leonard Pope if he falls to the Redskins' spot in the second round. He has great size (6ft 7in & 258lbs), good hands and speed. He needs to add weight and improve his blocking, but would have time to do that as Christian Fauria's backup."

PICKS:
2nd-53-Rocky McIntosh OLB Miami
5th-153-Marcus Maxey CB Miami
6th-173-Brad Butler OT Virginia
6th-189-TJ Williams TE NC State
6th-196-Mike Kudla DE Ohio State
7th-230-Jarrad Page S UCLA
7th-250-Gerald Anderson DT Georgia

Looks like we are going to raid the ACC by SportingNews Magazine's picks....I like McIntosh, but I would die for Pope!!! I love the idea of McIntosh splitting time with Clemons, Gregg Williams could use them well together.

It won't be Pope. We will use a conventional 1 TE offence & Cooley will be the TE. McCintosh would be a solid choice, although Alston & Nande are also intriguing. Kudla won't be on the board 2nd day.

I hightly doubt that even if Pope is there, that we would take him.

Do I want him? Sure. But we have much bigger needs than TE at 53. (Plus, we have plenty of TE/HB in Cooley, Fauria, Sellers and the developing White).

I am crossing the daylights out of my fingers for either Ryans (probably not), DQwell (probably not), Abdul Hodge (maybe), Thomas Howard, or worst case Rocky McIntosh to fall to us at 53.

Then we will an impact rookie at a position lacking depth, and he's still good enought to see large acmounts of PT his rookie year.

And after looking at various MOCK-Drafts, I've realized that this is a great year for 3rd and 4th Rounders, yet sadly we have none.

Therefore, lets say there is like no one there at 53, I would love to trade down and pick up some 3rd + 4th Rounders.

i think the Redskins should take an OLB in round 2,.hopely some one like Thomas Howard or Roger McIntosh canfall to us, no tthat the giants dont need an Out side LB any more .

The Ravens have resigned Tommy Polley, that should mean 1 more LB available at #53.
