Sunbeam Alpine

Post by fredp45 »

My brother is trying to sell his 1967 Alpine. For those who don't remember the Alpine, I've attached a picture of one -- this is NOT his car...his is a red convertible.

The same looking car with an 8 cyl (called a Sunbeam Tiger) was used by Don Adams in Get Smart. Remember he rounded the corner and skidded to a stop in front of his bldg? The Tiger was one fast car in the 60's. The Alpine is the 4 cyl. The Alpine is getting hard to find as Tiger owners are buying them for parts.

My brother lives in Va Beach and wants to give it away for $2500. He's done some restoration on it but is tired of doing it. He's draming of an Austin Healey or Jag one day.

If you're interested, PM me.

No...A Sunbeam Alpine. They stopped making them 40 years ago.

Aston Martin's are very expensive English cars. Sunbeams were much less expensive cars. A Sunbeam is more similar to a VW Karman Ghia -- a smallish convertible, reasonably priced car made in the 60's.

Never mind - sold it in 2 days...$2500 to a mechanic...

Very cool car, very unique, expensive parts though.
