i have the acuity gs.1 combo set too, and i feel that if i slow down my swing with them, i can get a better knock on the ball. i dont know about you, but the woods especially feel light in my hands, so i have to slow down otherwise i'll lose control. dont get discouraged about the driving range, golf is mostly mental and if you get down on yourslef, you're more likely to end up playing worse. just relax and slow down that swing, you'll notice a difference.
Sean, may you always rest in peace and look down on us with the same love that we look up to you.

Range, range and more range, I used to shoot in the 100's and in the last 10 years I have really droped my score. Now I'm shooting in the mid 80's. Just put in more work, you'll get that score down.

If you're worried about distance, don't. Stop trying to kill the ball, slow down your swing a little bit, and make sure that above all you're making solid contact with the ball. Spend a bit of time working on your form, but try to get a consistent, natural swing that flows.
If you're playing on a course, try teeing off with a low iron (3, 4, or maybe even 5) instead of a wood. You should get a good 180-200+ yds. out of it, which is all you'll need on some courses. It's better to be 180 yards from the pin in the fairway than hitting 4 out of 5 into the woods (but hitting it really far).
Make sure you work on your chipping and putting game a little bit, too. At least enough so that you're relatively comfortable around a green. It's amazing how many strokes get shaved off your game when you start 2-putting consistently.

I am a little big of an amateur at golf, but I HAVE been given my share of tips.
I'm a pretty big guy, so people always tell me just to slow my swing down and work on making contact like FFA said.
Also, something that helped me get solid drives was to pause for a moment once I reached the height of my swing. I was just putting the whole swing on it, but pausing, looking at the ball and THEN swinging through REALLY helped. In one game I went from being terrible in the first few holes to actually holding my own with these other guys who had all been before.
As far as the short game goes, I used to work at a minigold course, so I was pretty good at that. I don't use any arm strength, just hips and shoulders.
Good luck!
