What about a Kicker???
What is the deal with John Hall - I think he has lost a lot.. I don't see us getting a really good kicker in the draft, so we need to address this.
I read on ESPN that Miami was looking at Vanderjaqt - Miami is also interested in Ramsey - what do you all think about a trade - Ramsey for Olinda Mare?

So, exactly what do you think we are going to get for Ramsey - if the answer is 3rd round or better - then no...
but reality is, I think we are looking at 4th maybe 5th round... and if we don't get a kicker that can kick the ball into the endzone on kickoffs (hall had not 1 all year) and can consistently kick a 45 yard FG - then we are going to have some problems.
Who knows, maybe Gibbs is planning on drafting a kicker - I don't know - just know that we need someone - and I just don't want that to be Ola Kimrin.... Novak maybe - but I just don't think he has the distance...
I agree to some extent about the concerns regarding a lack of touchbacks but to need a kicker who can consistently hit from 45 plus is indicative of an offense that would consistently sputter and die around the 50. I don't think the Skins will have that problem. And there is no chance I'd trade a veteran QB (to whatever extent he can be called a vet) for a kicker.

Are you even allowed to trade a kicker?
I thought kickers couldn't be traded... of course, that could just be on Madden

I don't necessarily mean straight up trade - but if you could get him and maybe a pick - I think it might be worth it... maybe not... just a thought, but I'd rather get something for Ramsey - I don't want to just give him away.
And yeah, our offence will be much better - but if you can't consistently hit from 45 - then you will miss when you need to hit from 45 - 48.... Vinnitari doesn't kick all the time - NE had a pretty good offense - but when you needed him to hit the big one - he did...

Yes, you can trade kickers and punters. It usually only happens for a draft pick or another kicker/punter, but there is no rule against trading a kicker or punter for a position player.
Also, I don't understand why the Redskins haven't made a real run at Adam Vinatieri. He's durable (never missed a game), accurate (51/58 the past two seasons, compared to 36/48 for the Redskins), and best of all, clutch. And at the age of 33, he still has plenty of years left as a productive kicker. In my opinion, it's the only way to go.

Why would Madden videogames lie to us?!
Grrrrr.... my bad...
But anyway, it seems to me that since we haven't released John Hall yet, that we might be keeping him.
We got Hall because he has a big leg and can kick the long field goals, but he just hasn't been able to stay healthy.
I think he might be our man going into next season (he's a hell of a kick off specialist too.)
My biggest concern is punter. Dave Zastudil, the best one on the market is gone... We could get Bryan Barker back (remember that NASTY broken nose he suffered? Might have been the grossest thing I have ever seen on television.)
Or what about Jason Baker?

Hall hasn't kicked a field goal over 50 yards since 2003, and his kickoffs last seasons were pretty miserable. I'm not sure how strong that leg really is anymore.
Besides, and injury-prone kicker, let alone one who misses big field goals, just puts the team in such a bad place.

I know, but if we were going to dump him, why not do it already. Why wouldn't he be in the first round of cuts?
Do we gain extra money by waiting for June 1st?
I don't really want a big mouth like Mike Vanderjagt... but after him the kicking market is pretty thin...

I think we are holding on to him because we can - he is better than nothing... I think he gets cut when we can land someone better.
I agree about Vanderjaqt... that's why I started the post about Olinda Mare - he's a good consistent strong legged kicker.... if the fins take Vanderjaqt - we should try to land Mare....

I would rule out any RFA's...
Also, since the Vikes signed Ryan Longwell, would that make Paul Edinger available?
Edinger has had some success in the NFL... he's 16 for 24 in his career on FG's over 50 yards, and he's pretty accurate overall.
He might be a nice addition.
Thoughts?

Vinatari is good, but I could see him being too much money, if we could get him I would love it. VAnderjact I do not like no way, he's good I just don't like his attitude and sucks in the clutch. Cortez no way, other ones I don't know much about.

I'm nervous with him kicking no matter how far out we are. His kicks are so low, think everyone will be blocked.
You'll always be remembered Sean. R.I.P.

1. Most UFA are available to sign with any team or with there previous team.
2.When Edingerwas under contract it was with the Vikes, they now have Longwell under contract.
Hope this bit of info helps if not here is another hint:
