Why don't you worry about your own crappy QB who finished:

- 23rd in the NFL in QB rating below Dilfer, Carr, Simms, Collins and Holcomb

- 31st in completion percentage ahead of only Frerotte, Orton, and Losman

- 31st in interceptions ahead of only Brett Favre

- who threw 3 ints and had a 35 passer rating in the playoffs

- and did all this with a top 3 RB in the backfield and very good WRs and TE around him

- oh, and also who you gave up two first round picks and a third round pick to get!

Eli is absolutely one of THE WORST QBs in the NFL. Get a life.

Take it easy on the guy. I mean, if we were fans of an overated team who had been leading their division all year, only to seem them get blown out, shut out, at HOME in the first round of the playoffs, we might be pretty sore too. Particularly if we had been harassing the fans of a rival team within the same division - A team that went on the road and actually won in the playoffs. Does this help put his situation in some perspective?

The point I was referring to was posts that are meant to elicit solely negative responses. Given his, her, or it's recent disposition and constant string of posts half-heartedly berating both past and present Redskins, I figured the argument had merit.

But guess that's why you'z guyz are the mods. Keep up the unbiased and tolerant good work! (That's not sarcastic, BTW)

Justice Hog, thanx for the defense. My posts are not designed to "flame." I try to stick to the facts, e.g., citations of my favorite Redskins-Dallas games. They may not be your favorites, but factually they are mine.

In fact, I have kinda marveled about the quality QBs who left Washington and achieved some major successes elsewhere in the recent past. I'm gonna speculate that no other NFL team in the past dozen years has ridded themselves of this many quality QBs. My question is why?

For what ever it is worth to those who read my posts on this board, I am a long time Giants fan who lives in Maryland and thus follows closely what the Redskins do as well. If i can provide a little material for discussion and even disagreement, so be it. If all you want is a homer board and all is well with the Skins, I'll leave.

I will say that I very much enjoy the Giants board in part because there are many knowlegeable skeptics who love the Giants but nonetheless have a realistic viewpoint. Pretty healthy and fun. Many Eli and Plax critics on the board. Makes for great discussions, in a gentleman-like fashion for the most part.

If you follow the redskins as you claim, you would know that Green's contract came up during a period when ownership was changing, and he was regretibly allowed to slip away. He followed some of the coaches to St. Louis. That kind of thing happens.

He did well in Tampa, but he isn't exactly a top quarterback in the league. I doubt you would claim he was if you weren't trying to make a point.

I don't know very much about Rich Gannon other than the one good year with the Raiders that got them "second place."

Who knows! I think Pat has talent, and I think he could go in and start for any of the teams that are rumored to be looking at him. Apparently Joe Gibbs thinks differently, though, so I reserve judgement.

If you think you are the first person to bring this point up, you are mistaken. In fact, it's been discussed in various threads around the site.

O.k., I'll try to fill in the blank, rather than bash the Giants fan...

Patrick Ramsey - Will never be league MVP; will not win the Super Bowl before the Redskins get number 4; will have to compete for the starting QB position wherever he ends up this year (that is, he won't be given a starting job); might eventually generate impressive stats, but will always throw too many interceptions; will overall be better than Gus, but maybe not as good as Brad Johnson (who seems to always win despite possessing a noodle for a right arm) or Trent Green.

I like Ramsey. I wish he would stay with the Redskins but market forces dictate otherwise. Let's not make him out to be the second of coming of Sammy Baugh, or Sonny or Joe or Gus... Ok, well, maybe Gus...

- Gus Bus: mediocre at best, except for the sublime moment when he knocked himself out of a game. Surrounded, of course, buy a team built by a Cowboy assistant coach who ranks somewhere above Steve Spurrier and somewhere below Otto Graham on the list of Redskin coaches.

- Trent Green: the best of the bunch. Lasted one year and took more money. He coulda been a contender if he handn't busted a knee at St Louis.

- Brad Johnson: dependable, and depndably immobile, QB. Better than Jeff George, but what does that say?

- Rich Gannon: OK scrambler (campared to Rypien), but had no arm. I think Cary Conklin deserved more playing time in '93.

- Ramsey: who knows?

None of these guys, other than Green (injured) and Johnson (adequate but no star) could start in the NFL.

So...? Is there a pattern? Let's be serious. Teams run through QB's. Gibbs had a way of taking a good QB and winning the Super Bowl. Is this a setup that leads to comparing Giants QB's and Redskin QB's? Anybody remember Joe Pisarcik? Or Kerry Collins? Or Eli Manning?

For a QB to be a starter he needs 2 things-

1. God-given talent that is nurtured and developed. RP has that ... to a degree.

2. A system (with a strong supporting cast) that utilizes that talent well. This is where PR is not fitting in. The current offense/play calling does not werk well with PR. Also his supporting cast was incomplete. After Moss, where was th deep threat?

PR has not reached the stage where if the play breaks down, he can make something happen. When he gets to that stage, he'll be dangerous.
